Websites can't host game servers, the website is hosted by your ISP probably, by making the information available for download. Game servers require processing power, which your ISP may be able to help with by allocating a machine to do it (expect they would charge).
So you have the option of setting up a host on a home machine, or paying a game-hosting provider - there are a few already setup to host LFS servers like liverforspeed.fr or 500servers
The upload limit of your home machine would dictate how many slots your server could have without causing lag problems.
this is what we got. so idk but i think form the way it looks wer renting a server to load a website to but wen i look in the CP it has all this crap to control the server and load crap to it and this and that, i've seen the backend of a webpage befor. this doesnt look like it's JUST a web site... lol
I'd guess that your host would need to install the dedicated server package for LFS onto the machine you're renting and ensure that port 63392 is open for the game to run through, and AFAIK that should be about it.
I'd suggest sending a PM to somebody like UK CTnet's Sam H or and asking since they have plenty of experience with LFS servers.
I checked out the siteground website, and quite frankly it's a bit misleading. There's no effort to properly identify and define the services you DO get. It looks for all the world like they're implying that they are a one-stop solution. They certainly are NOT that, when it comes to a Clan or an LFS Team.
Clan installation? Clan-optimized Servers? I wonder what they are, that's different from a bog-standard web hosting solution, and more ideally suited to clans. Seems at least a BIT misleading.
The thing it looks like you need is something like Franky's solution, http://www.500servers.com/. Several major teams appear to have their LFS servers hosted by Franky. I don't know if Franky offers website hosting, so you may need a website package AND an LFS server solution. Perhaps have a chat with him, and see if that's the way to go
I know this may be a few days late but hey. Better late than never.
Just to confirm for you that the sitegrounds solution there is purely webhosting and the Cpanel your talking about IS just for webhosting, Dont let some of its features mislead you. Webhosting servers are different from those that host games.. More often than not webhosting servers do not have the hardware to cope with the load a game server would create.
So basically.. what you have there is WEBHOSTING and you CANNOT host a game server on that.
