Quote from dadge :i think coolermaster do 230mm fans. they have one on their HAF X chasis.

Their systems do say 230mm but all I can find as a single fan is 200mm. The case I am looking at can fit 230mm or 120mm on the side so if nothing else I will get a 120mm but thought if I can get a 230mm I might as well.
I've bought 2 iRush Pros from Novatech (for my lad and fiancée). Had one glitch with my lad's one where the gfx card went Pete Tong after a couple of weeks, but an RMA was all set up before I even asked almost. I took it down to their Reading branch as it's not too far from here, and I got asked if I had 10 mins to wait. They tried a new card in it and it was shown to be the problem.. I walked out with it still installed and has been working just fine ever since.

Although Clare only really uses hers for email and some browsing currently, Ash happily runs Test Drive Unlimited, GTA 4 etc on max settings without a problem

Right I think this is the final set up that my system will be but I got a few questions afterwards.

So here is my, hopefully, final spec

My questions are really regarding fans and cooling so firstly: My thinking is that with a case with so many possible fans I might as well fill them as fans aren't expensive and well why not. So, with the fact I am getting the cpu water cooler, I thought I could take off the rear exhaust fan and put my cpu fan in its place (maybe even use it for a push/pull though could be different fan speeds so I don't know how effective it would be?) Use the 120mm fan from the back on the side possibly unless I can find a 230mm one for the side. Finally put the Akasa fans in the front as intake fans (picked them as they have the highest air flow I could find on OC)

However my questions are as such
1) If I only put a 120mm fan on the side surely it is a bad thing to have all the reaming holes open? As I was thinking, if its a 120mm that does go on the side I could put a blanking plate over.
2) The akasa fan is 4 pin but from reading the motherboard manual they are 3 pin I think. So can I use those akasa fans or would I need to get a fan that runs on 3 pins?
3) Again from reading the motherboard manual, there doesn't appear to be enough fan sockets for all of these fans so could then be run directly from the PSU? (and therefore make question 2 redundant) I am aware if this is the case then they would run constantly which I don't mind.

I think that is it for now but thank you so so much for all your help so far guys.

1) if the fan is mounted on the side in a pull (hot air out) then the extra holes mean nothing. same really if it's in push (cold air in). because it's close to the gpu, i would put it in push as the fan on the crd will suck cold air in and expel it at the back of the chasis.
2) just to be sure, it would be best to get 3 pin fans.
3) you could buy a 3pin fan splitter ( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ ... atid=1428&subcat=1689 ) and have 2 fans controlled by one socket on the motherboard.

Ah ok, i would have it as a push fan. So front and side would be push and top and back woule be exhaust

Ok, I will have a look for a nice 3 pin fan

That is a good idea, will add it to my shopping list.

Thanks again dadge.

Edit:

The write speed on that SSD is quite low. Read speed is good though.
i have never owned a ssd before so any advice i give you on that wouldn't be very accurate. but yeah, arco could be right so it might be worth looking into it a bit more buddy.

That said, SSD drives are mostly used for the OS and maybe a few games, so read speed matter more than write speed, and with this drive having a SATAIII interface, it's on par with more expensive drives regarding read speed. A review of the drive can be found here: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=25308&page=1
Thanks for the tips guys. I know about the write speed though, as arco said though it will only be for my OS and maybe a few other programs. The 1tb hdd will be for storage and more normal use. Everything else looks fine then I assume?

Any final offers on a 230mm fan though? I am drawing a blank, though I will pop in to PC shop on way home to see if they have them.
