If it worked once, it'll work again. You have to press it every time you leave the pitlane. The button might be different; for me it's L.

How can you have a limiter on the demo cars though?

Unless the FBM has one, haven't used it for a while

You cant as far as I know, only FO8 and BF1 has pit limiter within the single seater class
