Incorrect mirrors in lfs.net downloads page
A couple of days ago I wanted to install LFS on my new netbook. On the main downloads page I clicked on a random mirror and it was linked to a Z25 patch zip, which I knew wasn't the latest version. I have checked all mirrors and found these two are wrong:
 • Serbia: Mirror 9, hosted by Serbian Racing Team. File linked is an older LFS S2 Z25 zip file, not the Z28 installer.
 • US: Mirror 12, hosted by http://jdhost.org/. Broken link as of right now (should probably be checked again in a while).
The rest are OK. At least the Serbian one should be fixed so no one downloads an older version by mistake.
Use torrent download instead.
Yeah but that aint the point lol.

This is for bugs, and it is a bug, or more of an oversite when Z28 came out.

By that logic shadowww, thats like someone saying 'LFS crashes when i choose the XFG' and your reply being 'drive a different car' see what i mean.
Well if server allows both XFG and XFR who would drive XFG?

Same with HTTP and BitTorrent downloads.

The people who enjoy the XFG more than the XFR.
Same with the people who don't have or want to get a BitTorrent downloaded and simply want to click download.

--------------

Either way you missed the point that danthebangerboy was saying. If it was the torrent link broken would you say the same thing? What if any car was broken except the UF1? would "Race the UF1 then." be your response?

To OP -> nice catch on the mirror that wasn't updated.
Ever heard of multi-class racing?

Class 1: XFG
Class 2: XFR
Torrent vs HTTP is not multi-class racing

HTTP is just slower, no other differences.
Nice going steering the thread off-topic, Shadowww.

It gives me the opportunity to point out that the "sign-up" link at the LFS World login prompt leads to liveforspeed.net, not lfs.net (which has been the official domain for quite some time).

So, in a competition of a Torrent with 0 seeds, and an HTTP connection.. the Torrent will win.

Nice logic
Guys no need to drag this any further. The point was that there were two incorrect download links. It has already been fixed, those mirrors are gone now, so it's all good
The S2 download mirror from http://www.lfs.net/?page=downloads Alienserve is down.

United Kingdom - S2 mirror link nr. 15 hosted by http://www.alienserve.com/

Quote from www.alienserve.com :
It is with much regret that AlienServe, as of 20/05/2010 will be moving out of the gaming market as we do not see the gaming market as a viable market in which to run a business, and will no longer provide any gaming services or voice services.

thanks for the note.
