are you sure about b) ? it would even out the weight distribution a bit

Yeah, it could add more load to the rear tyres and stop them from losing grip, or it could add to the pendulum effect and make the wayward rear end more wayward. I was just trying to make the point that it is pointless.

Are you saying that in your opinion it's not powerful enough to have twins, or too powerful to have twins?

Power has nothing to do with it. Perfectly possible to have 1000bhp with one exhaust, or 10 with 5 exhaust pipes if you wanted. It's mainly a styling issue, and sometimes an acoustic tuning tool. As long as the manifold and downpipes are well designed and manufactured then you're okay. It just so happens that to save weight the S2 XRT has a single silencer. I don't know if the S2 version is more or less powerful than the S1 version. Wanted dual exhausts is a product of people BELIEVING that they are 'better'.

well, I think that visually, one exhaust is much better then twins, but I just remembered my old BMW 325 E30 (god I miss that car) it has a dual exhaust on the left, and it looked quite good...maybe it would look better...maybe not, in anyway this is not a improvement of the game that should be made a big noise of, I believe the Developers have mush more important things going on

which means, the single exhaust is actually heavier than the dual pipes - and tristan is wrong
bring back the light dual exhaust pipes!

but then again, the old S1 car seems to have other unneccesary weight on board

Yeah, i was aware of that in regards to power output and exhaust sizing. It's just the way you worded it: "Yeah, twin exhausts on a car of that power output looks a bit too ricery really" it just seemed as though you were saying that twin exhausts only belong on low powered rice mobiles. My argument was my RX7 has twins and it's quite the powerhouse if i do say so myself! haha. A little longwinded, but all in the name of fun.

This is the most pointless improvement I've ever seen :s

I couldn't care less if the car had no exhaust modelled onto it, there are plenty of other better improvements to be working on than some stupid 3D cylinder .

Well, if you assume that LFS is real life (it is, isn't it?), and that the exhaust was the only thing changed between s1 and S2 on the XRT, then the single exhaust weighs more (:S), but produces an extra 1hp at PEAK (might be less everywhere else). But it's likely that other tweaks were done too to produce the extra weight - maybe a different carpet density, or electric windows. Thus the lightening of the exhaust system was countered by more 'goodies' as standard. The additional power is unlikely to be a result of the exhaust change, but maybe a different cam, or a slightly different combustion chamber design etc.

Of course, if it IS just a computer game then I expect Scawen just tweaked the variables a bit, or some part of the system, at the same time that Eric decided a single exhaust looked better. But that would be a boring answer.

1 exhaust looks better. But i think they need to change the sounds of the exhaust note, make it a bit louder or something.. and change that bloody BOV sound.. sounds like some ones made the sound with their mouth lol

Over all else, i'd like to hear more spool. But this thread is about z0rst pipes. To which i think should be left as is until there comes a time where we can modify the cars to change things such as exhaust pipes... yay for 45 degree D1 style cannon mufflers :dopey:

Well obviously THAT Corsa is powerful. Just from picture you can tell he's actually broken every rolling road machine it's ever been on. You can also make out the 12 year old girlfriend just out of shot. And the cider in a paper bag.

Bet the Altezza taillights add some power too.
