Where have YOU been?

Never at the place of true hapiness.

On a more serious note, I've been to Italy a couple of times (Cattolica), and also to Germany. Also, I've seen some things in Austria (been to Carinthia one week).
Quote from Becky Rose :By contrast i'm technically less travelled, i've only been outside of Europe once...

Just do a google search of "De-Motivational posters" And that's all you really need to see from the US.

However! I'm going to take a small trip to Sweden soon! I'm so excited!

Wooo!

If you dont mind me asking, whats your line of work?
he's a pilot?
That reminds me of when I flew to Thailand. The plane crew said we were going through turbulence or something and told me to put my head between my legs to be safe. I said: "If I could do so I wouldn't be on my way to Thailand!"

Quote from mrodgers :Comparing traveling over there compared to over here is like comparing apples to oranges. You folks can say you've been all over Europe in many different countries. I just mapped a route through Europe by car. The route travels from Netherland, through Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and finishes in France. The route is still 3 hours short of my trip to Disneyworld this year.

It depends on where you go in those countries. This is quite a short trip. You could see more of those countries if you're willing to travel further. I went on holiday to Italy this year. It was a twelve hour drive (1150km or something) and we were only in the northernmost part of Italy.

edit: I forgot to add a list of the countries I've visited:
The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain and Portugal.

WTF.

Quote from mrodgers :I've been to Canada, before a passport was needed. Don't need to see it again. As for travelling elsewhere other than Mexico.... My car wouldn't make it 3 feet outside of the US soil to travel elsewhere, thus there's no reason to have a passport.

We're not all made of money over here to be able to travel. You all hate us anyways, so why would we feel welcome?

Seriously, since we are a season behind on Top Gear over here, I've learned I would love to visit Europe after watching either the season premier or one of the final shows of last season where they went hunting for the best roads in Europe.

Just looked up some flight numbers. Seems to be about $1500 flight to fly to Munich, Germany. So, there is my wife, 2 kids, and myself. Ever think that this may be the reason we don't travel abroad to other continents? It cost enough just to travel within our own country. Add to the flight the cost of staying somewhere, seeing things, eating, and the cost is well above what I paid for my car.

I can think of a lot more important things to spend 1/4 of a year's salary on.

Before you pull the $ card, look at how many people in this thread have been to the US vs how many Americans have left America...

On topic, not too many:
England (obviously),
France,
Germany,
Switzerland,

Would really like to experience more of Europe, but not enough to justify spending loads of money on it... yet.

Czech Republic
Sweden

Finland
Poland - Drive thru only
Austria

Was working for an auto manufacturer as regional representation. Hence the having to visit markets regularly. Nice seeing what would become friends in various countries, but the travel and frequency of travel itself was a pain in the arse.
Waking up trying to remember what country you are in today wears a bit thin after a while!
-England
-Ireland

-Portugal
-Spain
-Menorca
-Italy
-Turkey
