For the second round of the Road Sport Summer Cup we are at the city based circuit at South City, the racers will find themselves racing around the "long" revision of this circuit, which mixes high-speed sections with so tricky blind corners and hairpins, this is a tough track at the best of times, but with these wayward beasts it could prove even trickier!!.
After the superpole qualifying we have Hannu on pole, Paps in second who will be looking to claim maximum points here so he can extend his lead at the head of the table, just behind him we have, maybe driving the fastest FZ5 in existence, Vince, can he make up for his mistake he made at Blackwood?, just behind them are Misko and NoGhost, will the top drivers be as close here?, lets find out.
They all get away cleanly to start with, Thommm makes a move on Jojo up the inside into T2 and just makes it stick, they are banging panels into the blind corner section of the track, but Thommm manages to keep infront, further towards the back, Bo Kristiansen swings across the track and clips Vain, this causes Vain to lose control and start to spin, he has suffered quite a bit of damage to his right side, he doesn't seem to be having much luck in this competition.
Nukelane is caught by Pilot exiting a corner and ends up facing his FZ5 in the wrong direction, he clouts the pitlane barrier on one of the other South city configurations and causes some damage to his left rear quarter panel, only a few corners in and we already have 2 casualties, although it seems that Vain is suffering the worst from his tussle with the barrier.
Running in 6th and 7th we have the 2 drivers, Thommm and XRRoy, both racing for 1st racing, any chance we could see some team tactics?.
Bean0 has a bit of a scary moment into the slow hairpin corner, locks up under braking and ends up 90 degrees to the barrier
By the end of lap 1 we have the "usual suspects" in the top positions, Hannu is running strong in 1st with his teammate Paps just behind, Vince in his quick FZ5 is in 3rd with Misko and NoGhost behind, the field is getting a little more spread out now, with Vain clearly struggling with a damaged car bringing up the rear.
Nukelane is having a bit of a nightmare this event, he hits the pitlane barrier on the start/finish straight at over 100mph, good job this is a game!!!!.
Vain decides to pit in and repair his critically damaged FZ5, a good choice because he was struggling to keep it on the track in the condition it was in.
Octane, after getting close to being in a position to take Pilot, but he takes an odd line into the last corner and ends up letting r4ptor through
Lap 3 Col has made a move on Bo Kristiansen, r4aptor and Octane have a little bit of a tussle into the chicane section, which causes Col to catch up with r4ptor and bangs into his door, now its a 3 way tussle for the places, Col is all over the back of r4ptor, but takes a wide line and gets a nasty knock with the barrier, this has destroyed his front right damper, surely he is going to have to pit after that clash, Bo Kristiansen has taken the opportunity to try and re-take his position back from Col, sticks his nose up the inside but Col moves over and squeezes him out, both r4ptor and Col get a big sideways moment coming into the sharp 1st gear hairpin, these 4 drivers are pushing the limit it seems, all 4 are bunched up, but due to Col's damage Bo Kristiansen slips through.
Still at the back and the action is going strong, bozo and Bean0 have caught up with Col, and Bean0 tries to stick one up bozo but bozo doesn't concede.
Now on the 4th lap, towards the front of the grid all drivers are pushing hard, jojo gives XRRoy a punt up the backside, just to let him know he is there!!!.
Col makes a wise choice to stop and repair his damaged car at the start of lap 4, up at the front the top 5 is still the same, all drivers driving clean, fast and consistently.
Lap 5 and jojo has been waiting to make a move on XRRoy for a couple of laps now, he is now getting close enough, and tries to stick his nose up the inside of XRRoy at the 1st gear hairpin, and makes it stick, beautiful overtaking maneuver, XRRoy couldn't do anything about that, great bit of driving from jojo.
XRRoy is clearly not going to give up his place without a fight, the FZ5's power gives him the legs to pull along side jojo on the back straight, he has the inside line and jojo cant really do anything but concede for now and try to get him on the exit, but he can't, XRRoy gets a nice line out of the corner and blasts down the start/finish straight, I hope that's not the last tussle we see from those two, great driving from both of them.
Lap 6 and jojo tries the same move again, but XRRoy isn't going to fall for it again, and doesn't give jojo enough space to make the move stick, all this battling has given Pilot the chance to creep up behind jojo and pilot gets a
nice line into the final corner, jojo seems to have dropped off the pace a little bit for some reason.
All the action is happening mid-field today, and jojo tries to pick up where he left off, Pilot gets a little sideways after the bumpy, under-bridge T1, which gives jojo a chance to probe up the inside in T2, he blitz's past Pilot to re-take 8th
Lap 8, and jojo has found his pace again, he slides up the inside of XRRoy, who gives jojo way to much room on the exit, he is almost giving him an invitation to pass, they are neck and neck through the twisty, blind section but jojo cant get past, again Pilot is sniffing to take a position.
A few places ahead and NoGhost gets a little slip into the final corner, this means he clips the barrier on the exit giving Thommm a chance to get in his slipstream and take 5th, once again, the 3-way tussle between XRRoy, jojo and Pilot is raging strong, Pilot again taking the position away from jojo
Lap 9 and Pilot gets T1 all wrong, jojo, again, takes the position from Pilot, so much place changing here its hard to keep up!!!, again jojo and XRRoy are neck and neck through the twisty blind section, these boys must be feeling the pressure by now.
Jojo is through again, XRRoy took a wide line and scraped the barrier giving jojo the chance to overtake, can he keep the position?.

Still on lap 10 Pilot is now nipping at XRRoy's heels, although some of Pilots cornering would not look out of place on the D1GP drift circuit!!!!.
Action up at the thick end of the grid now, Vince has taken some damage somewhere, maybe this, or his tyres are causing him to slow, either that or Misko has the red mist and is steaming to get 3rd, but he is all over the back of Vinces FZ5, some very nice defensive driving from Vince, he sure knows how to cover his lines!!, Misko is going to have to be a bit clever to get past, he locks up under braking for the final corner and nudges Vince, this causes vince to lock up his already warm rear tyres.
Meanwhile on Lap 12 Thommm has managed to get past NoGhost,Misko just can't seem to get close enough to Vince again, so Vince can breath a sigh of relief, for now his 3rd place is safe.
The last 3-4 laps are very procession like, but on the final lap Misko is again very close to Vince, can he get past before the finish line?, Pilot is going for it too, his heavily damaged Raceabout is pushing to get past XRRoy but I don't think his vehicle is up to it.
Back at the front end Vince is defending his position well, this is how defensive driving should be, very effective, Misko is clearly itching to get by and tries it in a bit of a dodgy position, but he may have been better to wait until the last corner as now Vince in the more powerful car has the advantage down the back straight.
Further back Pilot is in XRRoy's slipstream down the back straight into the final corner, he swings out wildly to try and get the inside line but clumps the wall in the process, he just can't get the power down quick enough on the exit and his heavily battle scarred raceabout squirms all over the road.
And its all over, Hannu takes the victory, with the race winner of round 1 Paps taking 2nd and Vince coming in in 3rd.
Misko will kick himself for the last lap, if he had been patient he might have been able to get by Vince, Pilot also tried very hard to get past XRRoy.
Top notch driving by all, not an easy circuit with these cars, a few racing incidents but no complaints have been lodged with the race officials so no penalties will be looked at.
Next event is in 2 weeks at Fern Bay Gold, its nasty chicane is bound to cause problems, but the calibre of the driving displayed in the first two rounds means it shouldn't be an issue.
Paps will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the table, Hannu will be looking to get more points than Vince, they are currently sharing 2nd place.
