Reinstalling LFS after a disk crash
Hi all.
I've recently had a hard drive failure and I had to restore OS on C: from a Ghost image I had laying around.
LFS is on another physical disk.

I remember that the latest LFS version added some new "registry" keys, like moving lyt files with a double click and so on.

Is there a way to add them to the registry without reinstalling LFS?
It would be a lot easier to back up the folder and install it.

I think it won't overwrite setup/skin/mpr/etc folders
Sorry, I meant that LFS is already installed and working on another hard disk (D:\games).
I have C: and D:, and I had to restore C:, so I lost something in the registry.
I just wanted to restore the LFS registry keys without reinstalling it...I'm afraid of screwing some settings.
If you install LFS, and then paste the backup over it, you'll have everything allright

Basically, for every extension (let's assume spr at this point) you need to do following registry changes

1. Create key HKCR\.spr
2. Set data of '(Default)' entry of HKCR\.spr to spr_auto_file
3. Create key structure HKCR\spr_auto_file\shell\open\command
4. Set data of '(Default)' entry of HKCR\spr_auto_file\shell\open\command to "X:\Full\Path\To\Live for Speed\LFS.exe" "%1"
I think Whiskey's suggestion is a lot quicker and simpler.

Ok, got what you mean
Still slower (if you have to write all that) and more complex that simple double-click the installer and paste a folder

Trust me, downloading installer & installing LFS & copying over few GBs from backup is slower ;P
Thanks!
So, I paste that into a text .reg file, (eventually correct the path to my LFS.exe) and execute it?
this is what i would do. (as whiskey said) download and install a new/fresh LFS. once this is done, copy your old LFS install over onto the new install. overwrite any files that it asks you to. once that is done, launch LFS and unlock it. once that is done, exit from LFS properly (do not alt+f4 or X out of LFS). once that's done, all the regkeys you need will be installed and that's it.
reboot for good measure.

EDIT: you might not even need a new LFS. just run the old one and unlock it.

Case closed. Didn't even need to unlock.
Thanks all.
