Renault is poised to scale back its Formula 1 involvement next year and become only an engine supplier, AUTOSPORT has learned, as its current works team closes in on a tie-up with Lotus Cars.

Lotus Racing, as is this year, will not have Lotus in their name next year. Their next year name, is unknown.
But, the Lotus name, will now live on with Renault F1, currently 5th in the constructors' world championship, as 'Lotus Renault'.

They were. But Fernandez recently said he would consider changing the team's name if Lotus Group officially entered in F1. And remember, Lotus Racing and Group Lotus are still in justice about that Team Lotus appelation, so Fernandez isn't even sure whether he'd be legally allowed to use it.

I actually thought that that conflict went to the Lotus Cars side already...it was supposed to have been settled for some time now. I'd be gutted if they don't bring Team Lotus back after a stupid dispute like that.
