Hello,
I am 18 and I have just been invited to join my local community response team in Essex. For anyone who doesn't know what this entails, Community responders are basically volunteer paramedics (although not as highly trained) who attend 'category A'/life threatening calls in their local area to assist the ambulance services by arriving on scene first and giving crucial life-saving first aid.
This is particularly useful to me as I am aiming to become a fully qualified paramedic.
I wanted to know if anyone on here (preferably UK based) is a community responder, and what your experiences have been like, and if you have any words of advice. I have no real worries but it is always nice to speak to someone with greater experience, especially as I am at the stage where I have no experience. (other than helping people where I have been in the right place/right time)
Josh
