Does the server have monsters?

Another bugfix released, it seems Notch figured out what caused the invisible players and this time fixed it.

I'll be updating the server too and in about 2 minutes it'll be up again!

You can nowhear creepers?That kind of defeats their point right? They don't creep

They always did in single player.. it's that hissing noise when they are about to explode

Just bought minecraft, i find that game quite something

Minecraft won't start on this windows xp 3.2ghz dual core 2 gigs of ram intel gma 945 machine(no opel gl mode detected and i have updated drivers)
but it will run on 1.6ghz dual core vista machine with intel gma 950 and 1 gig of ram.

If you're getting the "bad video card driver" issue then that may be because Minecraft tries to aquire too much memory.
You can launch it via the command "java -Xmx800M -jar minecraft.jar" to work around that.
