The online racing simulator
After reading this whole thread theres 2 points ive got to make.

firstly its been said about have interchangable parts but have their pros and cons. To me it seems a certain clutch, brake pad . . . etc will have their advantages at certain tracks and would just become part of the set used for that track. Taking this to the most extreme i can - If we look at brakes - Say racing the fzr on as nat which i am alot at the minute. After T1 theres the straight with the bends in but dont need to lift so need to brake for hairpin. As you are travelling near top speed then surely the brakes that offer the best stopping (maybe even with increased wear) would be used (I get in endu racing this could be a problem but for non league and endu racing which i would say most of people playing lfs just play casually.) Now look at the oval, dont need brakes at all so brake types wouldnt need to be considered. I know taking the oval is an extreme but it highlights the point that there will always be an optimum for each track.

Secondly - To make a completely realistic racing sim then yes all this would need to be covered but where do you stop. I mean different oils, fuel, brakes, turbos, superchargers maybe, tyre tread, different tyre manufacturers, chassis choices, suspspension manufacturers, possibilities of different materials for all components, body design development to make cars more aerodynamic. My point is on cars the list of interchangible things is endless and to me it shouldnt be done at all or should be done completely. To do it completely would take so much time and make lfs so complicated.

Dont get me wrong i would love to see parts you could change. But i would only like ECU's etc where the engine could be set up differently like the torque and power bands so the engine could be set to thr tracks also - but again woudl make it too complicated.
