2010-2011 Season Rules

Drivers & Teams,

Attached are the rules for the 2010-2011 Season. Several important rules have been changed prior to this season, so it is strongly recommended that all drivers and team members read the entire rules document. However, we are happy to provide a list highlighting the major changes:
  • Class changes as discussed elsewhere
  • A maximum of 6 drivers may now be used in any round (including race & quali sessions)
  • Drivers may be moved from one car to another within a multi-car team during a race weekend, even if they have already qualified for one car. In this case, their qualifying times from the initial car are disallowed.
  • 45% estimate is now only for planning purposes; actual 45% of each car's total laps will be used to determine driver eligibility
  • A single skin may be used for the entire season, for both quali & race sessions
  • Hardcore qualifying; driver changes allowed via normal pitstops
  • One "spotter" allowed for each team during qualifying sessions
  • Class polesitters must maintain a steady 55mph/90kph speed once the field has assumed the double-file formation (final sector), until the green flag is given
  • In order to be scored and receive points, each car must complete at least 70% of the laps of the class leader and cross the s/f line on the final lap
  • Change to MotoGP points system
  • Class polesitters in each race weekend will receive 2 bonus points
  • Teams that complete each race will receive a 10-point participation bonus at the end of the season
  • Post-race time penalties (for protests in the last 1hr of the race) will correspond to the precise actual DT / SG time for the given track's pitlane
This is not a complete list of changes, so please read the rules fully.

Thanks!
