Realistic NASCAR Rules
Qualifying Rules
Drafting will be prohibited in all qualifying sessions. Obey blue flags. Only 1 driver per entry will be permitted in qualifying.

Points System (if applicable)
1st - 20
2nd - 17
3rd - 14
4th - 12
5th - 10
6th - 9
7th - 8
8th - 7
9th - 6
10th - 5
11th - 4
12th - 3
13th - 2
14th - 1
The Pole Winning driver and Owner will receive 1 point for starting the event. Only the driver who drove in qualifying will be given this point.

Driver Championship Points (if applicable)
An individual driver may race under multiple owners and numbers and still continue to accumulate drivers points. Driver’s who drive for more than 5 laps in a given event will receive driver’s points for that entry. Each driver will only be allowed to receive points for driving 1 entry per race. The driver will be given points for the car that he drove the most laps for. Drivers are allowed to drive more than 1 entry per race.

Owner/Team Championship (if applicable)
Owner’s points will be awarded to the car number. Each entry does not have to have the same drivers for each event to accumulate points.

Attempting to Finish Under Green Flag
Red flag will be thrown in an attempt to allow the race to finish under green if it comes out late race, and quickie yellows as well may be applied (lead lap cars and lap down cars are allowed to pit on the same lap in a quickie yellow). For a red flag all cars must stop in order behind the leader. The pace car will take place at the front of this order and a yellow will be thrown to end this period. The restart will occur at the next passing of the restart area and the pits will be closed until this restart.

Yellow Flag Information
Full course cautions will be thrown only if a disabled car is in the middle of the racing surface. When yellow flag is thrown you are asked to turn on your pit road speed limiter, but please do not hit your brakes. The pace car will slow down to allow the leader to take place in line. You are asked to follow the person if front of you 2 seconds behind under yellow flag until the restart is imminent. If pits are open for you you are permitted to pit at any time. Restarts will occur (roughly) on lap 2 of the yellow flag. Yellow flags will not be thrown after the White flag has been dropped.

Lap Down Cars Under Yellow
Prior to restarts, cars that are 1 or more laps down will be forced to the rear of the field. If there are lap down cars remaining in front of the leader after yellow flag pit stops then they will be given the wave around the pace car. Every yellow flag period there will be a free pass wave around for the highest running car that is laps down (may be multiple laps down if there are no cars 1 lap down).

Restarts
Restarts are to occur between the restart lines about 15 meters and 25 meters behind the Start/Finish. All flags will be called by race control. If green flag is not called by race control then the restart will not occur. If the line-up has issues yellow flag will be called before the green flag was supposed to be. If a driver is involved in a crash they will not be given their previous position back, but rather they will be given the spot that they had when they returned to the running order. If you pit under yellow you will be placed in exiting order behind those who did not pit under that caution period. All starts will be single file. Races will start with 1 or more pace laps which will count into the listed total of laps unless the total laps is less than 100.

In Game Chat
Chatting will be disallowed during the race. Permission to speak must be asked for and granted during all sessions at all times during on-track action. This rule will be enforced strictly by the administration team.

Pitting Instructions
When pitting you are committed to pit once you cross below the "commitment cone", and on pit exit you are not allowed to return to the racing surface until the “blend line” rather on yellow or green flag. Pit may occur under green or yellow flag.

Required Paint Schemes (will be stated if applicable)
All participants must have a large, visible, number on each side of their car and on the top of it (facing either direction due to road course and oval racing both being used). Failure to have a proper skin will result in a 5 point penalty for each session that the improper skin is used. (post them here or e-mail them to [email protected] if you are unsure of their legality).

Failure to Comply
Failure to follow these rules will result in in-race penalties which will be determined by the benefit that the rules infraction has given you. Failure to serve a penalty within 3 laps of it being issued will result in a worsened penalty, and failure to serve a 2nd penalty will result in disqualification.

Driver Requirements
In order for a driver to be eligible to compete they must meet all requirments listed on the event sign-up thread.

End of Race
When the checkered flag is in sight (after the front straightway bend at KY1 for example) more aggressive driving will be permitted than at any other time. Post race you are asked to slow and return to pit road if you are not asked to go else where. The winner of the race will then be given the area between pit in and pit out for victory celebration (after completing a full cool down lap).

Special Realistic NASCAR 500 Rules

Qualifying
Drivers will be given an out lap and 2 timed laps. The order will be numerical. Run is final as soon as you cross the start/finish line to begin your 1st timed lap. This determines the front row of the 500 and the rest of the field’s starting positions in the duel races.

Duels
Gatorade Duel 150’s determine the starting positions of 3-32 in the Realistic NASCAR 500. Odd number qualifiers will race in race #1, and even number qualifiers will be in race #2. 1st and 2nd place qualifiers must start their respective duel race to start the Realistic NASCAR 500 on the front row. Entries finishing inside the top 13 in their duel race will be allowed entry into the Realistic NASCAR 500. The top 4 entries who start their duel race and don't finish inside of the top 13 will also be permitted entry and will start 26th position on back.
cool... but only 1 oval race :O you could do oval reverse? in one of the races.

Nice,but the race lenght is too long because I dont think there will be perfect attendence

Hardly realistic NASCAR is it?
No, but 100% NASCAR style racing I don't figure would go very far in LFS. This proposal might be streching that limit even.
