Yes, insane Cars like in Group B, but with much more security would be awesome. But the truth looks different... aren´t there thought´s to make the WRC some sort of "Super 2000" with 2l n/a Engines? illepall

I don't think rallying would be much more dangerous if we had similar cars to the nowadays Pikes Peak monsters because the actual car safety would be from a totally different planet than in the GrB era. It could be that some 500 hp cars would actually pass stages slower than modern WRC cars because those would be much more harder to drive.

But because FIA sucks lets just continue dreaming about this.

IMO rallying has got too fast and far too expensive, this is mainly due to the shortened rallies meaning drivers are pushing far too hard and creating a stupidly high risk of having big (and if it doesn't stop often fatal) crashes. Don't forget Group B cars were dramatic but not that fast, no where near WRC pace. I think much more standard cars on long rallies that are proper endurance tests is the way to go.

Group B cars and other insanely fast specials will now have to be relegated to rallycross/hillclimbs where they can run in comparitivley much safer conditions. As a new generation of Group B cars would not only be spectacular but genuinely blisteringly fast and removing active diffs/TC is never going to happen.

The Pikes Peak cars are totally different though, they've got more in common with the incredibly fast rallycross cars of today than Group B rally cars they're mostly spaceframed specials with the best part of 800bhp and seeing how low they run on the smooth gravel they'd be no use on a rally stage, also bare in mind that engine will be built to last 13 miles up a 12 mile hill.
