Why when , I got stopped the engine , and I'm on first shift or whatever , the car goes downhill ?
How to know did the handbrake is 90% on , or whatever how much is up or is always insta 100% - and how to shut it ! (realisticly)
Is there on laps some kind of stairs [ ] to test the physics of the body and the tyres . ?
If you're using auto clutch - even if you shift into first (or another gear) the clutch would be active. That's why the car would move... Turn off auto clutch (Options>Driver>Auto Clutch: [no]) and the car would not move when you're in gear.
If you're using handbrake on button (as most of us do) it'll be turned on, when you press the assigned key.
To release the handbrake just move off ... I'm sure you could assign it as an axis in a joystick and use it "normally".
Do you have the virtual pedals, the small coloured bars on the bottom right of the screen? Left to right, they show the handbrake, clutch, brake and accelerator position. If its not on, you can turn it on from Options>Display>Show Pedals: [yes].
I'm sorry, but I didn't understand that bit; but you can get a "forces view" by pressing "f" when the car is on track (or Force: on/off in pits screen). You can check the suspension stuff by pressing Shift+L.
Isn't easier and at the minimum sense - realistical, to push the same button to release the 'HAND'brake , than to speed up , or the programers just don't want to mess what happen if you have locked the brake and want to spin around at the same time . .
Imagine the Rocky stairs scene , and you downhillin' to see , do the physics work well , not only on flat asphault . .
But I think the handbrake currently works pretty well for people using it as a button (on a keyboard or wheel). I understand what you're saying about pressing a button to activate the handbrake and then pressing the same button to deactivate it - but that'll be confusing when your racing and need to handbrake often (i.e. RB4 on twisty autocross layouts). Its much easier as it is, just press and hold the button to turn on the handbrake...
When the car is moving, you have to hold down the button for the handbrake to work (just pressing and releasing the button isn't effective). The thing is, the handbrake don't lock into on position - as I said, you need to hold down the button for the brakes to stay on (you can see the handbrake indicator light up in the dashboard).
If the car is not moving, just tapping the handbrake button will cause the handbrake to be active and stay "on". Shifting into gear and moving off will cause the handbrake to release.
There are not stairs as far as I know to show it off, but you should be able to drive down and the car would behave as it would in real life...
In maps such as Fern Bay you can drive off road (hill climbing), the physics are acceptable... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTN3AX5SD-4 Mind you, LFS wasn't made for this, but its drivable and fun all the same...
Now, if the developers allowed us to make our own maps (at least make elevation changes to the autocross area/BL car park) we could make these "steps" and see how the car reacts.
hmm? Handbrake can't be put off once activated if standing what is very stupid. That makes you rev the engine so you can get to move without stalling the engine.
I wouldn't call this ok, it's sometimes really annoying...
I think it would be good if you have handbrake set on axle it wouldn't do the automatic handbrake hold.
