Quote from DEVIL 007 :Well, I dont have to be honest when I have to argue with someone...

Just being curious....have you made decison already?

No, I'm waiting to see what Zacate stuff comes out in the next few weeks.

whatevers gonna come out other than price i dont see how anything could be much better than the pasive asus mobo which has both extrernal and usb3 connectors
i fail to see anything wrong with it... other than the lack of a display port

The Asus is primarily the one I'm talking about. Just waiting to see what pricing is like.
I think it will be around 140-160 USD based on the always much higher european prices. Its already being sold here.
A direct conversion of the price puts it at about $200, which is what the Atom version sells for. But yeah, we'll see. Things are generally cheaper over here.
Well I am used to conversion Dollar price = Euro price. That`s how usually works it here in Europe unfortunately.
Here the mobo from Asus with passive cooling cost around 140 Euro but we will see...
On the other hand, the Micro ATX ASUS Zacate passive-cooled version is already for sale on newegg, at $140. So who knows until they actually stock it. :P
It will go quickly down. I think the Deluxe version if it would be listed as well at the moment would be 170 dollars. Just comparing what`s the price difference between both models here. I think it could go down quickly by 20dollars in next weeks. Dunno....just guesing here a bit
I'd think twice about the case.

I have the SG05 and its a POS.

The built quality is poor with sharp edges and the case not fitting together well. It rattles like a mofo from the hard drives and there is very little space to fit things in.

There is no sound insulation at all as the walls are just a piece of aluminium with ventilation holes cut in them.

The cube form factor also isn't as practical as you'd think. The case is still wide and high. I got totally fed up with the noise from mine and bought a p180 - total opposite of a small pc. Much happier tho!

I also built a slimline HTPC based on the ML02 and I am very happy with that. It is almost silent and the slim form very practical for a home theatre unit: http://www.digitek.net.au/2009/10/silverstone-ml02-htpc/

Thanks for the info.

Nice counterpoint to all the other overwhelmingly positive reviews I've read.
have you by an chance come across any zacate truecrypt benchmarks?
No sir.
Well, got my Lenovo x120e and found it's not quite powerful enough to run XBMC perfectly smoothly (menus), so I abandoned the Fusion idea and went for the LGA1156 setup. Purchased today:

so hows the e350 holding up in general desktop usage?

Well, it's a laptop. But it seems to be quite good for regular use. I'm still adjusting to the size, but the power seems plentiful for web/office/video/light gaming/even some Photoshop.
you dont by any chance use truecrypt or something similar on its drives?
No... just one drive (a wimpy 250gb 5400rpm) and I'm not running any encryption or anything on it.
k thx anyway
