Intel GMA 4500MHD
Hello!
I am going to buy one of these 2 laptops. My budget is pretty low (+I don't have intentions to invest more money into another laptop)

So, my question is, how many Fps should I get from this GPU card? Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD

Will it be sufficient for LFS? I know it's not a gaming gpu at all, but it's lenovo :/ No HP...

or this one

so? Just GPU.
Cheers, Mich
Yeah, I am taking that HP with ATI. 4500MHD is very weak for LFS.
Yes!

60 fps max, no AA, low textures in case of Intel 4500 chip.
Well.. it seems like there is some bigger chance with 4500MHD integrated gpu. I see many new games played with this office gpu. And as I am casual gamer, it may be very sufficient for LFS. I even see some modifications of drivers which gives more FPS. I have to PM scawen/victor about upcoming patch demands on GPU cards. :-)

I don't want my wheel to be just unused for 2 years, till I get desktop and job. :-)

Thanks CArgame ;-)
As my notebook has a Intel GMA X4500HD (which is the same according to google) I can tell you it's not one for gaming. LFS, while not very gpu hungry is still on the edge of being playable (around 28 fps (lowest) on south city in single player, with lowered settings).

I don't care about it, since it's my "workbook" and is used for matlab and the occasional CAD programm, but it's definatly not a decent gaming gfx.
(Could be down to the driver, but Toshiba doesn't seem to care about updating their branded one)
You send me a personal email (which I do not reply too on default :schwitz but... No, I do not have one.

But benchmarks say enough;

It's producing even worse results then one of my laptops equipped with a HD4200. 60 fps was a little bit too high as prediction, 30-45 is more likely which three_jump is claiming.

That is not raceable at all ...

It's kind of sad the chipmakers nowadays still make these kind of poor chips. With shared memory and stuff. :fp:

Well, not every notebook is supposed to be a gaming one. And it's more than sufficient for the normal use.
GPU is also used by Photoshop nowadays so it's not all about gaming.

And with a very small investment of a few Euro's that difference already is being made so I don't really see the problem here.

Look at the price/specs of an Asus A52N (P320), it's perfect in my eyes.

H.264 decoding should be done on GPU too, to lower power consumption (and, in turn, extend battery life). Sadly, not alot of Intel chips support it. :/
Thank you guys for your responses. I managed to find one guy with 4500MHD and he tried LFS for me. 1280x800 everything on MAX gave in single player 30fps. (demo)
With 12 AIs it was around 10fps :-D

Anyway, I've found another laptop, which seems to me like win. It has improved gpu by 50% :-) Intel GMA HD. :-)

I hope it will be a good choice. For such a low budget. And no, I don't want another 15,6".. especially not HP... for now
how much is that in euro?
i tried to convert it...but failed (3k euro? nah....)
440 Euro

Waste of money. For the same price you can get an Asus A52N.

edit;

Ehhrmm oh... Why is everyone being a pussy this days with ultra small laptops?

Sorry had to say
Because for gaming there are desktops and/or xboxes etc.. ;-)

And I bought it for 375e ;-)
ASUS :-D Not a good brand for laptops ;-) and I went for good chassis, not performance.. as I've said, for performance, there are desktops.
Definitely not a waste of money for me. + you live in other prices in NED then we here. ;-) AVG salary is around 400e.

What makes you say that? Asus has one of the lowest fail/broken down ratio last time I checked.

+1, only laptop that I have seen last over 5 years (seen, not heard of in almighty internets) was made by ASUS.
