Except Mike.. My telephone conversations while driving are blasting through my car stereo. Entirely hands free, so I don't need to think. I can dial a call by pressing a single button, I can hang up.
So you guys never think about something else, eat, drink (non-alcohol), listen to music, sing the music, or use your phone while driving? You just focus on the road? Doesn't it get boring?

Either you guys are over-exaggerating or are just insanely paranoid.
I fap all the time while I drive.
That reminds me..

Road head. Do you guys completely ignore that or what?
Quote from mrodgers :Right there is the whole point. 99% of the people out there can't do that. They can't concentrate on listening to the phone through the tiny little speaker smashed up against their ear and concentrate on the road fully. Thus, they concentrate on the phone and make driving secondary. It's easy to pay little concentration and keep the car in the lane. When something unexpected happens though, they never see it because of how little concentration is being put on the driving part.

Not that I even have a phone capable of talking on in the car (prepaid junk with never any minutes on it) but I can't talk on the phone in the car. Why? It is because I find myself the exact opposite. I put very little concentration on listening to the phone because I am driving, thus I am constantly asking them to repeat what they said because I didn't hear it. Driving is primary, phone is secondary as opposed to what I see 99% of the time in that the phone is primary and driving is secondary.

This.

People are different, and for some multitasking is not a problem at all, but the general mass is bad at it. Also many people forget or misjudge their own abilities, and that is what's creating most accidents - misjudging of own abilities and limits.

Now, I am not pointing fingers and tells anyone they canot multitask, but when operating an vehicle driving should be primary. Even if it might just slow you down 0.1 seconds in reaction time speaking in the phone when driving, those 0.1 seconds can be the difference on life and death for you or others.

If there is need for an urgent call or SMS that canot wait til you reach your destination, find a safespot / restspot to stop on and do it, don't try our your luck by getting cocky.

I can sing while driving but can't read anything, casual chatter is okay but anything that requires intense thought process while i am trying to navigate the maze that is Hong Kong's road is no no, not like it is dangerous but certainly can distract me enough to miss a junction, and missing junction here is baddddddddd, I have more than once accidentally trapped in a traffic jam that I have no business with.

I love road head.. however I can only get it done at 50 KMH or I'm scared of crashing.
