That actually looks nicer from front.

The problem is that people only take care about the details of a car, not proportions. I can draw a box with squared headlights and a sphere with the same squared headlights and you all would say "it looks the same" just because of the lights, when we all know spheres and boxes are completely different.
Designing cars for people with no idea about design is a hard task we have...
I'm not defending this Beetle, but it's kinda funny to read some comments every time they release a new car...

Well, I don't mind the new Mini (but I love the Countryman), and I think the new 500 is as ugly as a car can get. No wait, FIAT sold an even uglier car, the Multipla. So, ALMOST as ugly as a car can get.

The rear end is obviously different, as is the lines on the side of the car.
The front is the same though

Why complain that they look the same? If the Golf looked like a Golf and the Polo a Lamborghini I'm sure people wouldn't like it. It makes sense on many accounts to make a unified front end for your whole car range, but don't piss on VW bombfire over it, ALL car manufacturers do it. Why not piss over Caterham? Or Radical... all THEIR cars look the same.. Or, Koenigsegg... Or Lamborghini, and Ferrari. They all follow a design pattern that they go from, as do Porsche.

And usually there are some major differences from one brand to another, in terms of styling. So, you don't like VW's looks? Buy an Opel/Vauxhall. You don't even like that? Buy a Ford. Or a Peugeot. Or a Chevrolet. Or [etc].

No, because these people would rather complain about how VW looks, because that's the only thing that can ever be wrong with a VW, it's cosmetic appearance because VAG cars don't get critisized for their mechanics, almost ever.

their keeping me in business, clearly you have never owned on, namely the new passat Tdi's, Quiet easily the worst car on the road at this very moment in time. ( maybe not ever, but their progressively getting their )

Nothing wrong with the Passet TDI's. I'd have bought one if I could have insured it. Look nice, comfy inside and lots of space. And it uses the same engine that the 2.0TDI Golf uses and while there are SOME turbo issues on earlier cars, after 07 they all sorted themselves out.

Really like the Bluemotion one as well...1000 miles to a tank! :jawdrop:
