If Klitschko was dull then how would you describe Haye? If you saw the stats he put in a far more beastly performance than the cocky arrogant knob Haye. Haye was just throwing wild punches and missing loads. Klitschko made him look like an idiot to be honest.
Klitschko wasn't at all beastly though. after round 3ish he basically just controlled the centre of the ring and jab, jab, jab. That was it. Highly effective and he made Haye look stupid, no doubt about it. He deserved the win easily. No argument from me.
At no point did I think "wow, what a beast" though.
The fight was a massive bore. A total damp squib. A complete anti-climax.
Not defending anyone here. But sometimes when one person fights completely horrendous (Haye), the other can't exactly go balls out. Normally you think that, but sometimes it only takes that one catch.
It's a fight, if you are efficient and effective in a fight, whilst the other guy scrambles to land punches then you are going to dominate the fight aren't you?
There's nothing boring about Klitschko, don't blame him, blame boxing. He does what it takes to win, nothing more, nothing less. Haye whines and says aload of pre-fight bullshit whilst Klitschko remains calm and patient. Even before the fight, we all knew who was going to win, and it was the one who was more noble and driven by an inner pride rather than an outer one.
It's like saying Jenson Button is boring to watch, well in a way yes, because he's so smooth there's no exciting moments generally within his own driving style it's always 3rd party things that bring excitement but watching Button do a hotlap is like watching porn, because he's SO smooth, it's excellent to watch and you can see the skill working efficiently.
Haye in some senses is alot like Hamilton. Inconsistant, but good on average.
As I said, don't blame Klitschko for being robotic or boring, blame the sport, if that's all the sport requires to take a victory. If you think Klitschko's style is boring, you don't register the skill that he has, and it was proven and will be proven, time and time again.
Klitschko said he was going to knock Haye out. Pre fight bullshit indeed. How was he going to achieve that? By jabbing him into unconsciousness?
Of course he has skill, no one's ever said any different. You don't get where he has in boxing without it. He was still boring though. Perfectly content to jab away for 12 rounds and take a points decision. He made almost no attempt to finish it inside 12 and live up to his pre match hype of knocking Haye out.
As you said, he did all he had to to win. Fair enough. I was just hoping for a show. Both fighters let us down on that front.
Lets see if I can talk American (stupid) enough for him to understand.
BlueFlame:
Klitschko fought good. He always has. He clearly won. He was the better fighter that night. He did everything he needed to.
What he is being "criticized" for is simply talkin trash and not backing it up. Obviously the organization nudges them to do it a bit just to sell it out, but when you say "I am going to knock him out", please at least TRY to knock him out. Jabbing him to death is just not going to do it.

Ever watch UFC/MMA? Ever seen GSP fight? He might win, he might be great, but he is an absolute bore to watch. Some fighters go out to entertain, back up their word, and knockout their opponent. Some fighters also fight not to lose, or "fight to win", which creates boredom in viewers and causes the criticism to start brewing.
Vladimir isn't stupid, he knows that Haye is fast and strong fighter, and powerful punch requires some time to prepare for. Just about enough time for Haye to knock him out. So he kept on jabbing and waited for the perfect moment to hit him hard and avoid getting punched while doing so. Unluckily the fight ended sooner.
Anyway, they are talking about another fight. I hope Haye will be Knocked out this time!
I guess you forgot to read Haye's comments leading up to the fight?
You know, for the past 2 years...
Wlad was actually very "gentleman" like during all the press conferences, interviews etc. He just said he will defeat Haye, and thats it. Alright, he did mention the 50th knockout, but compared to what Haye was spouting, it was child's talk.
So if he is getting criticized for his pre fight banter, we should crucify Haye for his.
Chisora looked like he's made of rubber. So many punches and still up and standing. But the fight was quite interesting, compared to Vladimir vs. Haye.
I really wanted to see that **** Chisora get knocked out. Unfortunately, the fight was drop dead boring. There was more action in the press conference. "Cultured and sophisticated British boxers!"
