My point was,,,the Cop let his guard down, what part of then first post did you miss...if i was the kids law guy, i'd have the steering wheel checked for the cops prints..i would bet they are on the right side , right where the keys are.

Sad what you want..kid is now being tried as an adult...that's life for killing a Cop.

a Normal cop and one would be alive an the other walking.

Quote from shashdev :I get what you're trying to say, but for god sake's at least put some effort into telling the story correctly....

Done correctly:

BOOM, that took like three minutes. And also, part of your story isn't explained (why can't the kid walk?)

I'll let you know if i need your edification in the future.

And the kid can't walk because he was thrown out of the van and landed right by the cop..his legs were trapped..cop called on the radio and was most concerned for those hurt.

My point is...if they all followed the book..this wouldn't have happened..so stop making him a hero...he was bad at his job..and died doing it.....he not a hero he's a zero.
Quote from bunder9999 :that sucks. so much for my lifelong dream of travelling through europe. Shrug

As Canadians..all we can do is travel east and west..er north,,wait we're Canada..what land we have to roam.

You could pick England up and drop in lake Ontriro
Quote from Krane :It is not legal. Small quantities in possession and cultivation are misdemeanors and are officially punishable by a fine but a in-practise policy of non-enforcement makes them "not-that-illegal". I.e. It's illegal but allowed, if they don't like you, it's illegal and they can raid you and prosecute you for it.*

Usually it is tolerated by the police and government officials. But recently coffee shop clientèle need to have membership card with them to curb drug tourism. *1 *2.

That's my big concern...should i get shit faced on booze or chill out and smoke one but hey i'm over 50 so ... 16 year old,,don't do drugs and steal keys and go for joy rides and kill cops and ..any other comments

This case is just tragic, only victims here.
The kid is of low age, he lacks common sence / good judgements, and the cops does a fatal choise. I am not sure if the choise he did was bad, but nevertheless it ended fatal for him.

I think we can try looking for answers, reasons and people to blame, but ultimately we'll have to accept out biggest flaw - we're just humans, and we will fail, that is - what makes us humans after all. Accidents happens all the time, the tragics aswell, but pointing fingers does not help.

And as allways, this is an IMO, and I am open for a good discussion about the subject.
Of course pointing the finger helps, how else do you solve such a problem without blaming someone and therefore being able to see what needs changing?

IMO, the parents of the kids are to blame. Kids will be kids, they will always try to push the boundaries but it's the parents job to keep them on the right road, not saying it's easy but that's the way it goes. The cop was just doing his job.

This.

Don't know why people are always making a fuss on tragic, but rare events of this kind. Sure, it's tragic and awful for anyone involved and families, but mind you, we all have more chances dying due to a stupid domestic accident or some illness, rather than being ran over by a lunatic kid and his parent's van, or [insert an odd, spectacular and tragic event medias would be delighted to cover, if there's nothing more important on].

IMHO, once again.

I understand that some situations can be used to learn, but in cases like this I don't think there is any good answers. The police man only tried to help, and IMO his choise were not a wrong one out of normal situation, it were just an unlucky choise for that situation.
Can't see how the cop can be blamed, he just did his job.

About the "parents should keep keys away from kids" argument, mkay, but I don't think this is enough to stop kids. If the kid really wants them, he will always find a way to get them.

Are you talking about the situation, or AtomAnt's mental stability?

It's not only bongs mind you, booze I would be more worried about, me having the life stance accrued so far.

Then again there are people that would abuse daffodils if those would be the only substance available.

Hehe, talking about the situation Smile
