Logitech g25 boot up is slower than it used to be
Hi,
I've had my g25 for almost 3 years now and ive noticed that the boot is not as fast as it was 2 years ago.
What is causing it to boot up slower?
Thanks!
You mean calibration? It's due to the age, it starts to wear out. Those cheap engines won't lost really long with it calibration each time on boot-up of your PC (which makes no sense anyway).

It does. Wheel's controller doesn't has any writeable memory (there's only read-only firmware), so, as soon as you power it down, it loses calibration data requiring a re-calibration on next controller's initialization.

Pedals don't do the self-calibration though. I'm for a button for calibrating the wheel when you want instead of having to hear the wheel turning at every boot

can you plz show me how i can do that?
To be honest, I haven't had a problem with the wheel calibrating itself every boot, I'm just fine with it.

Ever since I bought a new motherboard, I've noticed that my wheel Turns off and on during the calibration process. The USB slot hasn't changed.

Is it during PC turn-on? This happens because USB controllers reinitialize when Windows takes control of USB ports from BIOS.
yes, It's during boot, I've kept it plugged into an externally powered hub (my 15" Monitor)
Are you sure it provides external power? Have you tried, for example, charging your phone from it while it's disconnected from your PC?
Some monitors claim to have self-powered hub while in fact it's bus-powered one.
I've powered my iPod with my PC off before through it, and it won't power anything if the hub part isn't connected into the outlet. Sometimes my wheel turns on in the middle of the night, but won't calibrate.

My computer does it while booting from "switch off" state. While booting from hibernation the wheel calibrations goes straight away.
