This weekend, 23.7.11-25.7.11 will be raced the CIK-FIA European Championships of KF2 & KF3. Also, the second round of the CIK-FIA World Championship will be raced during this weekend.
The events take place at Circuito Internacional de Zuera, located close to the city of Zaragoza. Last year, the World Championship was battled at the same track. The track is 1,700m long and really fast with long straights and fast corners.
The favorites for KF3 are the winners of the two Regional Qualifiers, Dennis Olsen (NOR) Energy-TM, and Alex Palou (S) FA-Vortex. These two dominated their qualifiers but, you can't forget Max Verstappen (NL) CRG-IAME, who last year finished 5th in the European Championship. Also, many there are many challengers, Harrison Scott (GB) Intrepid-TM, Lasse Sorensen (DK) Birel-BMB, Esteban Ocon (FRA) FA-Vortex, Lance Stroll (CAN) Zanardi-IAME, Pedro Hiltbrand (S) Kosmic-Vortex and many more.
In KF2, the most favorites are Nicolaj Moller-Madsen (DK) FA-Vortex, the reigning champion, who recently moved from Energy to Sean GP. Also, the winner of the Southern Qualifier, Enzo Guibbert (FRA) FA-Vortex is among the favorites. There are many challengers like Federico Savona (ITA) Top-Kart-IAME, Pascal Belmaaziz (FRA) DR-Parilla, Max Klinkby-Silver (DK) Birel-BMB, Teemu Petjoi (FIN) Birel-BMB, and Egor Orudshev (RUS) Tony Kart-Vortex, who recently won the third round of the WSK Euro Series.
In KF1, there is only one favorite, Nyck de Vries (NL) Zanardi-IAME. The small 16-year old driver from Holland dominated the first round in Wackersdorf, winning all of the four finals.
