Just wondering if anybody has any experience with Samba? We ( or a company we have aquired ) have a Lynix Box running Samba in a Windows for Workgroup Environment. They use complex Lab software. All PC's are Windows Based, but Samba allows them to talk to the Lynix Box.
I have been tasked with getting them off of the Lynix Box, and on to a Server2008 Domain, getting rid of the Lynix Box.
Now from my understanding, just as long as I re-create the same drive mappings, the special Lab equipment shouldn't complain, as it only looks for drive mapping.
Anybody have any experience of Samba, pitfalls, what to look out for.
