Hi Scawen,Victor,

just to let you know the following pop-up message is automatically not displayed in other browser except IE.

Does is really necessary when its only annoying for IE users.I am not saying it doesnt have sense to display it.Just something to think about.

I like the idea whith special thread which will be heavily moderated.Hopefully you will have more time for doing the right work then spending time with some idio** and replying to them.
Looking forward for next updates :-)
It shows in Firefox just fine for me. Do you have JavaScript disabled? EDIT: you probably do, I just disabled JS, and no popup for me

The pop-up message appears in Firefox and Opera too. You probably have Javascript disabled and that's why it doesn't appear. Javascript is on by default in Firefox, I'm not sure about Opera but I think it's the same. I say keep the popup, it's necessary. edit: I'm late

I dont want to hijack this thread but I have all 3 browsers(IE,OPERA,FIREFOX) and for example I do have Java Script enabled in Opera and the pop-up screen is simply not displayed.

I noticed I have Java disabled in Firefox.I need to look nxt time better before posting but as I said I have Java enabled in Opera(ver. 9.0) and the pop-up is not displayed.

No, not Java, JavaScript, 2 similar names, completely different entities.

Java or Javascript? Those are two seperate settings. Furthermore there are several sub options in Opera for Javascript, make sure those don't block the popup message. It works for me in Opera. edit: too late again, I should refresh more often

Well....there so many pop-up messages aroud the web that I am blocking them as much as possible.I bet many other people do this as well.

Well, leave it as it is then

A question to Victor or Scawen: Would it be possible/wise to display a message like the one in the popup window above the reply editor? And also above the quick reply bit? This way the message would still be clear to everybody, because quite a few people have javascript (partially) disabled like DEVIL said. Plus, most people have the uncontrollable urge to click any Ok button that appears on their screen within 1 second without having the slightest idea what it was about
The plan is for that to appear only on the first time in there. Not every time you visit that forum. Until we make the first post in that forum, Victor just left it popping up every time.

Thanks for quick feedback:-)...do you ever sleep?
The alert is a nice idea, but will people really read it?
I mean, it has only one button, so 90% of all ppl will just click ok
Some might even be scared and think it's a virus...
So make it two buttons?

Seriously, who doesn't read (doesn't obey the rules) that one will receive 3 warnings and after 3 warnings he will be banned from forum.

How about a checkbox? "I understend and accept the rules of this sub-forum"

Chances most people will read it that way. Those who don't will mostly leave the checkbox unchecked and you won't allow them to see the forum until they accept the rules.
nicey
checkbox with a big red border, plz
#43 - axus
And make the OK button move around for 2 minutes before you can click it so that people who aren't willing to wait for great things can go away.

I suggested tatooing the rules in reverse on everybody's forehead and then just placing a mirror at the front door to the topic, but nobody took me seriously. Then there was the pack of rottweilers / motorised scooter idea, but that didn't float either ......
Hi,Scawen
I had a small problem of black screen, after having make a screenshot with Fraps. Impossible to make other handling, the screen remains black, that arrives when I try to leave LFS .

I thought that should belong in the bug reports forum... but that's just me and I'm insane...

Works flawless here with U11 and Fraps 2.0.0 demo

Are you sure that was U11?

There was a definite black screen problem with U10 but it was fixed in U11...

Good stuff.

There should also be a warning that if you post something retarded/dupe then you get banned from posting in that forum for a week or something.

The box doesn't pop up in Opera, so what would happen about Opera users
Opens up absolutely normally, when javascript is turned on. Nothing is wrong

BTW, have you downloaded the newest version, Opera 9?

Quote from duke_toaster :The box doesn't pop up in Opera, so what would happen about Opera users

Anyone who uses Opera is likely to be a little more literate than some IE or FF users. FF is more broadly known and knowing that the average person is dumb, some FF users are potential idiots. Most people who use IE don't know how to use the internet. Opera users are few and far between and well informed people.

On a more serious note, I have not the faintest clue
It doesn't really matter if the box doesn't pop up. It's just a helper. There will be one sticky in the forum which gives the same info in more detail.
