Hardly surprising considering the lack of anything resembling modern (or even outdated really) safety measures, reasonable overtaking room on the track and driving skills involved (give it up, Даскалов! Double irony for the linguistically inclined: his last name's greek origin [daskalos] means "teacher").
There are people that do it, get that all the time when people see my wheel and pedals setup on the computer and want to try some racing on LFS of such, most seem to just mash all pedals and lose all sense of reality when faced with imminent danger.
Well they all raced anyway, quite strange, why didn't he get on the radio to the team to attempt to stop the race instead? I guess because he runs the series, he didnt' wanna see aload of scrap metal but it made him look rather unprofessional.

Very troubled rally Germany for Jari-Matti due to engine problems, but despite those he managed to set number of stage wins proving his talent on tarmac as well.
