Quote from jibber :You fail once again... hairdressers drive mazda miatas/mx5. Or in case that they are female, they ride as a passenger in an opel manta.

hairdressing special!
It's ok man, I actually think they were hairdressers cars, but now it's the new ones which look like crazy hairdresser cars, that model is nice and I love the way they drive, so screw others opinions!!

Same as I thought MK audi TT was a hairdressers car but they are pretty good cars too......

S2000's definitely aren't, little monsters if you ask me...
Yeah they're not bad at all, RWD, some would say a little underpowered, esp the 1.6l engine like mine, but with the +3 deg timing mod, a full stainless system with de cat pipe and an induction kit she breathes nicely, locked diff is hilarious fun too, so glad i had it welded, apart from when im trying to park on the street in a space between 2 other cars next to a kerb, then its a load of wheel scrubbing and hard moving hassle haha.

Also glad to see that its not just mine that appears to have a ridiculous amount of camber on the rear wheels doyal, i thought it was just my car that had it.
isn't a locked diff eventually going to wear out your u-joints?
Quote from flymike91 :isn't a locked diff eventually going to wear out your u-joints?

I don't know about u joints but welded up lockers have been known to seize.
Quote from flymike91 :isn't a locked diff eventually going to wear out your u-joints?

Lockers are just a ghetto/cheap way of having a tight 2-way. It does put extra strain on the drivetrain, but for typical day to day driving itll usually be fine.
Only time issues will arrive is if you're clutch kicking corners constantly.

Quote from Dizman :I don't know about u joints but welded up lockers have been known to seize.

Never heard of a locked diff seizing..only shattering.
Quote from Klutch :Never heard of a locked diff seizing..only shattering.

I've never seen one seize either, just got warned about it. I did it anyway lol.

But if the centre gears shatter, I guess there is always a chance of the pieces finding their way between the crown and pinion.
Quote from Klutch : if you're clutch kicking corners constantly.

Have you been spying on me??
No spying, but people don't weld diffs to drive to work and back

Quote from Dizman :But if the centre gears shatter, I guess there is always a chance of the pieces finding their way between the crown and pinion.

Would have to be pretty unlucky i think, and i'd assume theres more chance of the teeth just sheering off, but i could be wrong.
Quote from G!NhO :Cocks drive bmw's? haha oke

but mine is a ruined classic

Fixed.

Quote from e2mustang :i didnt have any problem on I95 when i did 145(mph) every1 pulled out of my way very quickly
no im not a cock.im a dick !

They were probably just trying to save their lives...

Quote from danthebangerboy :

Don't worry mate, i drove an mx5 for almost five years, some of the best fun i ever had in a car. Being called a hairdresser is a small price to pay for having one of the most fun cars money can buy.
Quote from 5tag :A classic ... among other youngsters who use their rear wheel drive cars to plow over some lawn?

Oh and I'm not saying BMW drivers are this or that... but you're driving an E30 320i with Borbet A wheels and offroad suspension fitted - yet telling something about his hairdressers car that by the way puts out over 100 HP more from the same displacement as yours.

Its completely stock apart from the wheels, in the winter the original wheels will be under the car again so...
It still is a classic, i only pay for gas and 170 euro insurance a year so i don't care about your gay opinions haha
Quote from G!NhO :Cocks drive bmw's? haha oke

but mine is a classic

then ur a classic cock
Yeah you might say that
Quote from jibber :They were probably just trying to save their lives...

Before those cars I had :
volvo 440 turbo 92
Alfa Romeo 33 RED 90
Audi GT5E 84
Alfa Romeo Giulietta 83
Alfa Romeo 164 QV 90
Mercedes 190E 2.3 16 84
Nissan Sunny gti 16 coupe 88
Somebody local is offering to refurbish the ZT's wheels for £120... very tempted...
Is that a while you wait on your driveway job or a take the wheels away to the workshop job?

If you want a higher quality finish I'd recommend the latter, but if you find a reputable company (i.e. not some bodger) they should still do a reasonably good job with the equipment in the back of their van.
