Tutorial for DEMO players
I have written a tutorial which should help the DEMO racers with some basic information. There are alot of good setups to be found in the tutorial to lure the people into reading it.

For admins: you can give the link to this tutorial to anyone seeing needing to read it before you kick them from the server.

It is a work in progress and will be updated. Please comment as to what needs to be changed.

I have to say that THAT is one of the best LFS tutorials I've had the pleasure of reading!

REALLY well written (barely any typos/errors at all!) and with really good coverage. I will DEFINITELY be recommending this tutorial to others as an excellent source of information on how to get started with LFS.

BRILLIANT! Well done!

kuren, that's definitely a really nice tutorial, very nice job I especially like the fact that you wrote about racing rules and etiquette.
I'm sure this will give great insight to people (not limited to demo players )

edit: maybe you could use a free url redirection service so it's easier to remember for people when they're given the address in the game.

Just two things: Red parts in F9-menu means they're hot, not worn... You'll be able to tell wear with the thickness of those parts...
Also, a setup sent to you is displayed as a green S, not white...

Your racing rules are a bit restrictive, but acceptable...

In short words: Good tutorial...
Good Tutorial, Just had a quick skim and saw 1 error
Quote : If he sends you the setup a white "S" will appear here, click on it to recieve his setup.

I believe it is a green S, rather than a white one, white would to send your setup to him.

Very good tutorial, clear and well written
"296 people have read this tutorial and still don't know how to drive or behave"

LMFAO, that made me laugh.

Great tut, given the link to a few people i know that arent very good at LFS and dont know many racing rules. As already said, good to read

The blue flag rule is a bit dodgy. Racers are not required to "let him pass immediatey". That's not how the rules work IRL, even if many fist-shaking drivers would like to think so. Blue flag rules require a bit more clarification if racer confusion is to be minimised.
Only because some racers think "ZOMG! MOVE I'm a leader so Get off MY TRACK" when most drivers think (myself included) that blue flag means "keep driving but don't contend to drivers who are passing you".
Corrected all except:

Quote from thisnameistaken :looking at that image, the two cars are side-by-side, but the white car has the inside line. If anything, the white car is the one who has won the corner. The red car may try to stay on the outside of the white car through the corner, and the white car should leave him room if he's still alongside at the corner exit.

That corner always causes controversy about who caused the crash. My theory is that the one closer to the ideal line (which is on the left side of the track at this point) has the right away. Otherwise I could just brake late and get along side of you and claim I was on the inside?

Maybe my view of this track is a little distorted since I usually race with people who can do the same times as I do lap after lap. A race is more like qualifying with the option of overtaking when somebody makes a mistake. A close formation column, a big mistake at the front...panic!

Quote from thisnameistaken :You don't have to wait for a gap in traffic when you're exiting the pits if you are racing the traffic that you're emerging into.

You don't?? Maybe an interpretation problem? A gap in the traffic means space just big enough for you too squezze into without obstructing other racers.

Thanks for all your comments, keep them coming!
