Best f1 Rookie 2011
Di resta: hugely impressive on the get go, qutqualifing sutil in alot of the first Few races, starting to get he's consistency down pat, a real prospect for the future(granted a bit overated by the BBC team).

Perez: also impressive, like di resta he's qualifing performances have been supurb out qualifing kobayashi most races, he's consistency still remains a question mark but the fundementals are there, also known as probably the best driver on Tyres on he grid.

d'Ambrosio: been completely dominated by glock, without ever really looking to challenge him, often finds him self behind the HRTs. I doubt he will be in f1 next season.

Maldonado: a bit of a wild one, quite a bit of irrational driving combined with some decent qualifying makes him a bit of a question mark could get better along his career but clearly lacking against perez and Di resta.

Ricciardo: started mid season in a HRT he never drove previously, he struggled at a wet silverstone understandably, but in the next gp he was able to match liuzzi in qualifying, then in hungry was able to get on top of him, since hungry he's pretty much dominated liuzzi, defying expectations. Still a bit of an unknown due to being in a backmarker but so far he's living up to he's pre F1 Career.

Well for me I say Its a toss up between Di resta, Perez and Ricciardo, but it makes me think that Ricciardo could show alot more given a decent car so I'm leaning towards him.

Either way it's been he most talented season for rookies that I can remember and expect great things from these Three.
Either Perez or di Resta - voted for the former.

Hard to judge Ricciardo considering how much of a dog that HRT is.
Di Resta because he should have been given a chance much earlier, and because I like him. Although Perez has been pretty damn good, he is basically the replacement for Massa already.
It's good that the best talents coming in have links to some of the best teams on the grid, so if there good they can't have an excuse if there career turns into a webber.
Quote :d'Ambrosio: been completely dominated by glock, without ever really looking to challenge him, often finds him self behind the HRTs.

Sorry for some bias here, but that's not true.

D'Ambrosio often qualified ahead of Glock, didn't crashed in any races (unlike Glock) and always drove the car without the new Virgin updates since those went to Glock, didn't cause massive blue flag trouble unlike the HRT and... he do is a rookie. Performing equally overall to Glock as a rookie I wouldn't call "being dominated by Glock". Behind the HRTs? Where do you get that from?

Not to mention D'Ambrosio's previous past where he did dominate his GP2 teammates and several highly talented racers.

I think Virgin knows that very well or he wouldn't be racing for Virgin in the first place, seeing they took him above other pilots with more cash. The question more is: will they pick talent again above cash?

It's doubtful he can stay though unless he finds bigger sponsors. Sucks to see how much cash goes to football and other sports but none to our talented Belgian racers. It's strange seeing our national racing history, having Spa, Zolder and so much more to offer. Shrug
The qualifying record stands at: 12 to 3 its a massive difference.

Not to mention the average gap tends to be a full second.

all other results don't mean much, but racing results are similar to the qualifying story.
#7 - samjh
di Resta, but only by a very narrow margin. I was thinking of Perez as well, and I think there is very little difference between them in terms of raw speed and talent. The differences are in the teams and experience: di Resta is in a better team - better car and better funded, with an experienced teammate to draw from, and also has learnt to handle long race strategies and pit stops from DTM. Perez has no experience outside of the feeder series, has only Kobayashi to draw from (a driver only barely out of newb class), and has a car that is overly sensitive and inconsistent.

I daresay that Perez would be the better driver if they had equal experience and equal cars, but for now di Resta gets the cookie.
