first i want to say sorry 4 my bad english. I want to ask all, if somebody has a problem with it. When i host them files on my webspace. I want to make a central site, where people can download Suits, Gloves, Interiors, Exteriors, Lights and so one. It would be great when all that we have on miscellaneous Addons on one site.

But what is the question?

If people allow him to upload their work on his page.
I guess it's not a problem, as long as you keep the credits

ok to put my textures into a megapack (but must include readme and license file), NO for hosting the single packs, use the download link i provided because i need it for keeping statistics and see if people prefers dark versions or bright versions, what track, if they are interested into source material etc. hosting will screw all it up, i hope you understand.

I think hosting PRIVATE skins is NOT a good idea, because ppl will use them as their skins, or modify them. So you should only host public skins i'd say.

But people take skins from skins_x folder and put it skins folder! and use other people's skin's!

I copied some clearly not private skins from x to normal folder. (Ferrari's skin without any marks that it's private)

It's really not nice if people use private skins, specially team skins. If they are driving nice, it's not a big deal, but if they wreck, it's really a HUGE problem...

You need to ask people if you wish to host their files. There is no other way, you can not afford to take liberties with hosting other people's creations. Get permission first, or stay away from that file.

It doesn't matter if he is hosting Granny's apple pie recipe, he should seek permission before hosting other people's files, unless the author has previously and publicly granted permission for a 3rd party to host or distribute their work.

He asked me for permission to use my edits,
so I guess he WILL be asking people before hosting their files.

Yes, i will asked the people for permission to use her edits. It would be great, we have all Interiors, Gloves and so one on one Site. And people can download it on this site.

i thought the intention was an high-quality mod pack with selected material, otherwise i don't see the point: there is already the "texture database thread" on this subforum wich is well organised and frequently updated, plus it's on the official forum...
