If they head into the route of using bodywork that resembles production models, then i'd like to see what lexus will do.

Ugh, why? They make the ugliest cars on the road!

I looked at the 'vette DP a little more, and I don't hate it as much... and I do really like that profile view.
A LF-A DP might not look bad
I used to love that old 'Vette GTP. Especially the pontoon rear fenders, like the old Matra (the model name eludes my memory at the moment )

Sorry, but Nissan's got them beat as a brand in the ugly as department. Leaf, Cube, Quest, Juke, etc.
Awesome!

This is shaping up to be so good.
Pfft old news, heard it on MWM

well audi won't do it when porsche does, as porsche is part of volkswagen, so is audi

It's possible. Right after the Porsche announcement:

This is the decision of Porsche company, a decision in which Audi is not involved. Audi relishes the prospect of every strong new opponent at Le Mans and in the new FIA Sportscar World Championship.

Rumor:

It has been officially announced that Porsche will return to the top class with a form of petrol hybrid. This has led commentators to assume that Audi will leave the endurance arena, the logic runs that the bean counters will not allow such duplication of effort, and more importantly budget. My sources from Germany disagree with this obvious conclusion, saying that after the victory at Le Mans this year, Audi have been given the green light to compete in the Great Race for the foreseeable future.

And then even Bentley started flirting with the idea...

One question that needs to be answered is, 'Can we race Porsche and Audi in P1?' If two brands [Porsche and Audi] from the [VW] group can race against each other, can three?'" said Gush. "Or would there be more value to Bentley competing in a different class?

"The three brands of Bentley, Porsche and Audi could race in different regions and come together five or six times a year for the world sportscar championship and then once per year in France. It's not decided, but it is possible," he said.

ps. Didn't actually dig up these links right now, I had saved them previously.
+1 boothy about MWM, they even said about the GM DP in June but when i mentioned it on iracing all the americans said it was a rubish idea that always got rumoured.

if you really what to know what audi think about porsche coming into the WEC, listen to the radio lemans imola practice pod casts, apparently there were blank faces in the audi pit when they were questioned just after porsche announced it followed by a lot of frantic phone calls, apparently porsche really did keep it completely secret from everyone else in the VW group and even porsche US as it was felt they were too closely linked with audi US to be trusted.

it helps of course to have a member of the porsche family, DR piech as chairman of the VW group and of course it's still not entirely clear who exactly owns who / what in the relationship given that in theory porsche holdings has a slight majority share in both porsche and the VW group even after porsches financial colapse and as such will be the majority share holder in the merged group, and who owns 10% of porsche holdings? the piech family
