How to use new autocross layouts
Hi, I'm a new S1 driver and downloaded some new autocross layouts off of this forum and put them in my /data/layout/ folder but none of them show up in the game. Can anyone help me with with correct placement of these files? I see the Au1_LX_week1, 2 and 3 files in there and those show up in the game and the extentions are the same. Are extra autocross tracks only for S2? Thanks for any help.
You only see layouts suitable for the track you are. You need to be in AU1 to see those layouts.

Do they apper if you enter in Shift+U and press Load while on track?
Your post is a bit confusing, you have mentioned that none of them show up in the game, then you have mentioned these show up in the game. Anyways this is what you have to do;

1. Go to track selection page
2. Select Autocross thumnail in the right track selection grid
2. Click on Autocross row under Configuration.
3. Click on AU1_LX_week1 etc

You are good to go. See the attached pic and the buttons marked in red. Are you getting the layouts listed like my screenshot?

Also I see you have gone ahead the posted the same question at http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=77132.

I'm new and am not sure by what you mean by "you need to be in AU1 to see those layouts"

These is the big layout pack I downloaded http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=75810

I have since downloaded 2 single layouts from this page http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=75048 and they show up.

I looked in the layout folder and there doesn't appear to be any difference between the two that work and the others in there that are not showing up.

Go to single player, select Autocross and the layouts beginning with AU1_ should appear on the list.

To access those that sinanju mentioned, you need to press ctrl and an X and Y should appear beside the list of tracks - click on X to access, for example, FE1X_ layouts.
Yes I understand all that, and that was the correct file that I did download and I did it a again to be on the safe side and it said if I want to to replace those files, which I did. They are just not showing up in the list with the other stock layouts and the layouts that I said in my second post that are showing up. I checked the data folder and the layout files are there from the zip file and so are the other ones that I added, its just not showing any of the zipped file layputs aren't there.

thanks all for helping me I hope I can get this figured out

Most of what you've downloaded, although layouts, are not layouts in the usual sense.

By that, I mean it's not a big car park where you can place objects such as barriers to make your own routes, but that they are tracks where all routes have been opened up and people have decided that if they close some forks in the road and open others then they make a different track layout and they have given these layouts names such as AS3X_A31, which may also be known as AS31.

To see these new track layouts, then when you get to the track selection screen, you have to press the Ctrl (Control) key, which will change the track choices and give (depending on the track choice) an extra X and Y configuration - normally all you get is the normal route and REVerse route.

If you then press the track configuration X or Y, then a Layout choice box will appear.

Not all track configurations will have additional layouts.

I figured out the problem, I went and renamed all the files with AU1_ at the start of the name and that did the trick. Thanks for your help. I wish there had been a readme file in the zip file to explain that, it would of solved a lot of hair pulling out.

edit: No that did fix the problem, the tracks show up but there is no cones inside them

Ok now I got it figured out the prefix is different for different groups and once I renamed them with the correct prefix it works fine. A readme txt would of really helped. Just dropping the files in per the directions doesn't get the job done all the way.
