Is there a way to enable the sound during animations? I used LFSRecord for a video, I know the recommended method is to grab all the bmps generated and create the video but I find this method very cumbersome and I think it uses a lot of space in the disk. So what I did was to capture the video of an animation which gave a video track to work with (since there is no audio playback during animations) and then cpatured another video to get the sound. Finally I synchronized the audio and video tracks.

I was wondering if there is a way to enable the audio during animation playback.

Thanks for an awesome tool.
The sound part is a bit problematic yeah. The reason there's no sound during recording is because LFS doesn't get focus. So LFS remains quiet.
I have been thinking about fixing this back when I was working on it, but it's not exactly easy for me to do so for a couple reasons.
Because I didn't think many people turned out to use LFS Record, I couldn't really be bothered to investigate further. Maybe I'll need it for myself eventually, in which case i might look into it again.

And no, LFS Record isn't super easy to use. But the point of that is that you can get results that you can't get any other way. Maybe one should call LFS Record a specialist tool, rather than an overall video recording tool.
Yea it is not easy to use at all. It is defiantly a specialist tool
I personally find it very useful when manipulating with cameras etc. But one of the disadvantages is that it cannot do true fixed cameras (e.g. onboards). Otherwise it is an awesome tool which enables to create high-quality videos (I have done one video using LFSRecord so far).
I found it very useful too! The initial sequence for the start in the linked video was made with LFSRecord.

You can already do onboard camera inside LFS and record it using FRAPS.

Or maybe you are suggesting that LFSRecord should be able to record without overriding LFS's camera*.

*I mean, if in LFSRecord you do not set up any camera, it will use the camera that LFS is using at that moment, being it Shift+U, on-board...That will make you able to grab screens at perfect physics timing to keep image quality at the same level.

Yes, that would also be great, I agree.
Ok, so if you don't claim the rights of the original idea I'll get them
:d
I came across the source code in C# for LFS-Record on Java2s, looks pretty solid.
ictor, what files are in the LFS are responsible for the camera on the road, when the "external view"? Be able to make so that Your program to download this file and make the record on these cameras? But then you have to increase the recording from 1 minute to 10 minutes maximum.
There are no files inside LFS that describe cameras. So there is nothing to import with LFS Record either.
If you just want to record from normal LFS cameras you'll be better off using fraps.
Sad. Just have a good distinction. Your program I can shoot with a screen resolution of 1280*1024 with smoothing 8x and 16x AF, and with fraps a screen resolution of 1024*768 with anti-aliasing "none" and AF "none". But still thank for Your program, ictor.

I just can't connect to insim. Why? Everything should be done correctly. I type /insim 29999 in Lfs and set the 29999 in lfs record also. What is the problem?
WiNdE, I have solved the problem, when reinstalled the LFS
Thanks, i'll try it tomorrow. Will back up my skins etc first.
I get the shift+u menu then I record. "LFS version 0.6b" how do I make it go away?

Shift+F or Space?

Space did the trick.. didn't know that button existed :P

Seems development on this has pretty much died. Does anyone know how to do things like helmet cams on this? I can't figure out how to do it, locking position of the camera to a car gets to the underside of it but I can't figure out how to offset it to get it to the right position
If you click on the 'Parent' button of the camera layer and select the replaydata layer containing the car that you want to follow, then you can still use all the camera layer's properties to offset it to the car.
So use parenting rather than property binding.
Hey Victor, really cool addon for LFS. tho i expirence 1 problem, i cant record anything. mainly because i use a norwegian laptop, that dont have the muliply ( * ) button. Tho i used my razor naga's button panel (1 - 12) and set 7 as *.
But when i press 7 on the Naga, i get a " / " nothing else, nothing in the LFS record or anything?

So would it be possible in any way to change the start recording button? as now i didnt find any way to change it?

Thanks in advice

assA
yeah hm the * to record is hardcoded atm, so indeed it cannot be changed.
I'm afraid for now your only option is to start recording via the Timeline menu.
Sorry if i am A bit outdated but

How do i make the video out of the images i tried to use VirtualDub but i could not figure it out

oh and I tried to make a camera sort of Stuck in the front wing of the FOX but i did not manage the preview plus images were not really correct (it changed position almost in every frame)

You could use a detect car script and then Have three parts Rear wing Front wing and Body so you can have a camera stuck in it
