Phones and driving, Becky? You should know better! Next we'll see a photo of Miss Becky screaming around a Real Life racetrack with a mobile phone attached to the outside of her helmet so her mum can discuss recipes with her or remind her to wear clean underwear in case she has an accident? as for the cats, well if they are big enough and there's two of em, some gloves may be a good idea?
There's 5 of them, but 3 are newborns and 2 of those are leaving (one way or the other!). They're all my sisters, who I share a house with, who seems to think she's Michelle Pfieffer.
Another reason for so many "pointless threads" people want to know but they read the first page but by second the thread is completely off topic. Oh well.
Those ikitties are funny lol but im sure they dont vibrate.
Ahem... getting back on topic (I WANT FLAMING TRASH CANS!!!)
I think there really has been a lot of locked threads lately (AND A WORKING TRAIN FOR S. CITY!!!). I don't think it's cause the moderators have a God Complex either (SIMULATED ONCOMING TRAFFIC). No, the amount of lamer threads has increased, so as a result the amount of locked threads has increased (A BALL SOUNDS OK, BUT I WANT PEDESTRIANS!!!) Also,
it seems as noted in a post earlier, (HOW DO YOU PLAY COPS N ROBBERS W/OUT GUNPLAY? WE NEED GUNS IN THE CARS!!!) these threads do seem to go off topic after it hits page two or three (OK FORGET ABOUT THE GUNS... THINK TRASH CANS!!!) and sorta descends into gibberish type posts (FLAMING TRASH CANS!!!)
Oh my, you have a knack for missing the point, don't you?
The reason for the 'uber-patch-testing team' (which isn't so much of a designated team as anyone can participate) is so that Scawen can keep his thoughts together when he is working on updating a test patch. If you cannot understand that, you've probably never developed software, correct?
The point I'm making here is that people should THINK before they shoot off their latest brainfrat for thousands on the internet to read. Its almost like they are hearing non-stop bullshit in their head, suddenly decide its time to post, put down whatever they've just heard in their head and posted something nonsensical. It is impossible for anyone to help them or for anyone to understand what they're on about. Then they play the victim when someone asks them for more info. illepall The odd thread that went in an unexpected direction or something like that doesn't get to me (nor to most people here), but I think I'm right in saying that lack of thought does.
But what am I saying, its OK to not think and waste everyone's time, right?
creating a public dedicated section for testing patches is not same as creating a private ghetto.
lfs is done by a team that includes us all from the start, the users. much of it was built on feedback, suggestions and testing. criticizing much of whats built in lfs is criticizing also many options, requests and quality control done by users. its our game also, in part.
a dedicated section with less noise, nawz and omg's is just that. you can still contribute to it if u want.
do a kickass job there and who knows u might end up in a private ghetto
I actually support the idea of the separate forum.
I've developed software successfully for many, many years. Not that it's any of your business.
Why do you feel the need to get personal?
If you'd care to read my post again, you'll see that I was largely agreeing with you, although with the caveat that we should try to avoid deterring new players.
But don't let that get in the way of a good hissy fit.
It's a little ironic that the original title of this thread shows exactly why threads are getting closed. What starts off as rational, reasonable, sensible debate soon turns into O/T public and personal insult trading. We don't want to spend our time dealing with this crap, to be honest.
