So close yet so far.

Team Vires' return to the Super GT Series in the GT300 class after being stripped of their first high ranked league win in the previous round was expected to be a quiet one. With Przemek Wdowiarz easing through from 6th in the qualifying race to win comfortably from Conquest Racing by the end of the 19 laps. Wdowiarz then qualified 6th place for the main race, and started cautiously quickly being demoted several places to outside the top 10. In the next hour a fabulous fight back ensued as Przemek fought through the traffic to get within the top 5 by the end of his stint. Despite very little training, Miro Rauti then took over the car and soon found himself in 3rd place chasing WW and Vortex down hard. A few laps later Rauti seized the lead from Lind, racing for WW, only to be demoted by lapping GT5 cars in the tricky chicane section. For the rest of the race Vires remained in a strong position, sitting 3rd only a fraction behind the battle for the lead, before it dawned on us we would run out of fuel by 1% by the end of the race. Despite Miro's best efforts the #55 car ran out of fuel approaching the final corner whilst running 3rd and coasted across the line to finish 6th overall.
Once again the Vires guys had the pace to win the race and was robbed of a strong finish by a small mistake. Small advertisement for the league, I urge anyone who loves close, hard competition to sign up for the Super GT Series in either the GT500 class or the GT300 class, it never fails to disappoint, or if racing isn't for you - watch the stream, it is highly entertaining!
Team Vires sign Flying Finn Maddee.

Former spdoRacing driver Matias Pikkarainen has joined the ranks of Team Vires following close contacts within the Vires camp. Matias is currently serving in the Finland Army and won't be active for the next few weeks but we are looking forward to his debut! So please give a warm welcome to Maddee.
