New Double Fine Adventure Game
So, Double Fine (the brilliant guys behind Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle etc) are doing a kickstarter project for a completely new adventure game. A project funded directly by the gamers, that means no publishers to mess things up. I already backed it up, I hope you will consider it too.

Just like pCARS. It's great to see that more and more developers finaly can skipp the unnessecary (and idiotic) Publishers. Hope a lot more projects like this come in the future.

(Won't contribute to this one though because I hate advanture games . Still the idea behind that stuff is great)

"100% funded in just over eight hours."

Holy mother....it really does work out for them!
It got over one million in the first day. Tim Schafer must be happy.

I suck pretty bad at adventure games, just have way too many fond childhood memories with Monkey Island and Full Throttle not to give my support to these guys in this noble project.

The thing I hate about these sites is that little information is given about the game.

The most worrying thing is, will my PC be able to run the game?

Dunno at least in pCARS since the game is founded by the gamers the forum and everything is EXTREMELY open. You can always see what they are working on atm, the devs often ask the community what they expect from the game etc.
Well, after donating/pre-ordering you are entitled to interact with the devs during the development of the game.

Previous Double Fine games haven't been very taxing on the system atleast, I very much doubt this one will be any different, especially without AAA title like funding.

Watch the video (the play button is a bit hard to see) and you'll get the general idea of it.
Have to say, I never played their previous titles (though I loved the art style of Grim Fandango), and I probably won't play this one, but I'm very happy for them.
This is the future for pretty much every creative artist.

Ignore record companies, let publishers go bankrupt, cut the middle man, forget mega-high production values and invest in content and soul, work your ass off and share it for free and let people pay what they feel is worth it - and if they like it - ask them to share your vision to fund your next project.

Not into Point & click, but hope it goes well for them,

All I want to do is start a graphic novel project after visiting the site.
Bump.

41 hours to go, three million on the horizon.
