Hah, no plain, honest titles like that these days, now it becomes something like 'pyro thermal transference technician' to give him the feeling of being an important part of the team.
or just call him an Expert, like they do on TV. Society Expert, Geography Expert, Coffee Expert, Sanitary Expert .... is that an Germany-only phenomenon?
@sam, hope you make it. RR, especially the turbine departement, sounds really interesting. Do they even do much engine development for cars? They get those from BMW anyway.
dont wear a suit, when you get spoken to be clear consise and backup all you're information with more information. You should walk it man, i see no reason why not...
Cheers buddy I do hope so, I'm currently sat here going out of my mind trying to find an apprenticeship. I have tried to apply for Babcock in the past and they aint keen as they want school leavers and Princess Yachts just dont bother sending the information you ask for at all.
Why do you say not to wear a suit? A nice pair of jeans and shirt then? I usually wear designer brands anyway so always looking smart :/
Cheers dude. Relocate? Thats what I am doing, I live in an old naval city basically and with thinking I have MOD opportunities, I don't. I aint allowed in the forces due to an injury from 5 years ago.
Wear a suit, I have no idea why he would say that. A shirt, tie, trousers and shoes at the very least. Don't wear jeans, I guarantee that would be noticed, in a bad way.
On a side not designer brands don't make you look smart
I know designer brands dont make you look always smart. But I wont buy clothes which don't make me look smart. I just mean generally my clothes are smart :/
Yeah I ain't comfortable in a suit at all! Black trousers and a nice looking shirt I am comfortable in, but more comfortable with a nice pair of jeans on and a nice shirt.
Its what they would like to see though. Go in with Rolls Royce shirt on, that would catch their eyes! LOL
Like others said, dress smart but feel comfortable in it. Ie, no tracksuit. Decent trousers (or slacks) and nice shirt will go a long way. Don't forget shoes. No trainers, no matter how clean they are. Also, give honest answers. Speak your mind and feelings. Express your goals. Don't say the things the interviewers might want to hear. I've had similar interviews, both on the same day. In one, I spoke my mind and was honest. In the other one, I gave the 'politically correct' answers so to speak. Guess which one got me the job
You'll never see my in a tracksuit unless training or having a lazy day around house. Horrible things when used as apparent 'fashion' lol.
I will be deffo telling them what my goals are, what I love about engineering what interests me etc... What my motivation is etc...
Ah the BTEC stuff, was basically Mechanical Engineering but more specialised. Was taught the basic fundamentals/principles or Suspenion/Braking/Steering/Engines/Electrical systems etc... (self taught myself a lot of it before the course, but had to do the course to get to the next step etc...) Also built an off road buggy from scratch, own space frame for it etc...
Just got an email out of the blue. Not from Rolls Royce though.
Martin O'Connell Racing. Asking for my CV and for me to attend an interview if I am interested. Race in LeMan classic series and a number of endurance racing.
