What? No, it wasn't "cool". That's something I'd expect some high school teen to say. It was because McCain was a **** up and Palin was a disaster waiting to happen. Obama didn't have to do much, just not act like a complete idiot.
Even though all the Reps this year are pretty silly, he has to be the only one that doesn't act like a complete puppet. Intellectually, he is consistent each time he speaks. That's much more than you can say about the others in his party. I think everyone being so bad makes him look really good, not that he is anything special. The amount that the news ignores him is quite ridiculous.
Not if you start digging, he's got some pretty out there ideas and support. There are a few reasonable key points that get hammered every single time by some of his supporters, but a full platform is far more than weed and wars. He's not the chosen candidate of Stormfront for nothing He also tends to pick and choose which sections of the constitution to follow, and takes... interesting... interpretations of some other parts.
Also, Obama torched McCain in the debates IIRC... And the selection of Palin was a truly atrocious campaign move. Palin alone was enough to make my mind up.
I don't see any way he can lose this time around. I'm certainly not considering voting for any of the candidates openly preaching America as a Christian nation and that we need to make it into a theocracy...
So your saying that his opponents are the best reason to vote for someone who's destroyed the constitution ?
Actually, with the exception of Ron Paul, I have to sadly agree with you, welcome to Amerika 2012.
And the only reason I support him is that he actually seems to have a brain, something that seems to be lacking in every other candidate, he's also the only one who isn't trying to be elected to some position of power in Israel, which seems strange to those of us in the rest of the world.
So thats now the level of mediocrity that the US has now reached, no dissent, TSA groping, a permanent state of pointless war, legal murder of anyone who disagrees or annoys anyone in a position of power, protection of Wall St criminals because they can pay off politicians, mindless support of resource stealing wars, ............
Your military is clearly out off control, they clearly don't answer to anyone, certainly not congress anymore.
And you wonder why you americans piss off so many people ?
Can you give me the definition of a rogue state controlled by criminals ?
The chemtrails clearly got to you... that's just what the New Zealand government wants you to think. On such a small island, it must be incredibly easy to control the population with the drugs.. There is no escaping. You probably don't even remember a thing about this, because they are controlling your brain even now. WAKE UP Do you not remember being in the re-education camp? You probably think NZ is a nice place but it's not, everyone there is so brainwashed and conditioned to blindly think what the government wants you to think.. truly sad.
Not an untypical response of someone who doesn't understand Dr Paul's policies.
That was the exact reaction he got over a decade ago when he pretty much predicted this economic disaster and its consequences. Disagree his policies to fix things, but Ron Paul isn't no right-wing nut bag. In fact he performs quite well with liberals. You won't find many who don't agree with his stance on civil liberties.
His stances on many subjects (drugs, civil liberties, etc) are quite reasonable, but he also has some pretty extreme views that would be quite destructive if ever put into practice.
His followers are also complete retards, for the most part. I wish they'd just jerk off to their pictures of Ayn Rand in silence rather than babbling all over every comments section on the internet.
The Government is too far gone for one person to fix and the average American is too stupid to put the pieces together to vote wisely and instead just vote for whoever they are told to. This just causes all the idiots/***holes to stay happy.
There is way too much corruption and greed within the government. Everyone is out to help stuff their own pockets and does not care about anyone else. Just look at how these people live! I can't put a number on how many government workers that live in multimillion dollar houses. This is where the tax money goes. It never makes it to where it is really needed or meant to go.
No, they support him because his policies validate their racism and give them the opportunity to create laws that discriminate against minorities. I am strongly against that, and I will never vote for a candidate with such regressive policies.
As if he hasn't done enough to prove his own racism over the years...
I think obama will be reelected, but what can he run on? His winning smile and easygoing attitude?
The economy has made little forward progress despite trillions of dollars wasted on his political friends and pet projects
His domestic policy has caused the markets to swing wildly but stay mostly stagnant as investors and business owners try to guess what he will do next (Obamacare), and are not able to accurately predict risk or hire people
His energy policy of picking winners and losers was an embarrassing $500mil failure (Solyndra)
his foreign policy is a joke (apologizing to Afghans for burning Korans used as message conveyors, to people who use that book to justify sewing young girls' vaginas shut so that they won't 'sin' or killing them as punishment for being gang-raped)
His response to the Arab spring has been at times supportive and discouraging, so no one knows where the US really stands or where we will invade next. He truly thinks the Arab Spring is about the the people earning democracy for themselves, but it is actually bringing Sharia law, oppression, and decades of war.
What is the best thing that has happened for the citizens of the United States in the last 3 years that can be directly attributed to his policies? Has he protected our rights? Has our country gained prestige, power, and money? That being said, I could only vote for Ron Paul so I'm not going to vote at all. Romney is just as shady as Obama, and Santorum...it makes me sick to imagine him facing Ahmadinejad, Chavez, or Jintau wearing a damn sweater vest.
I'd prefer our economy not being based on something so volatile... especially since we are in a gold bubble... I want nothing to do with gold right now.
Good for you! I've made a 100% return on my investment in gold so you keep out of gold and silver... I'm in it for the long game, not short term gains. How's your savings performed in the last couple of years?
Gold isn't in a bubble, no where near. When it hits $3k-$4k an ounce I might bail. I perfectly expect gold to go down and up... but long term it's no less risky than paper.
Paper money is exposed to volatility as gold is, if not worse. Unless you think Greece is the prime example of currency stability and the insane inflation we're experiencing now is somehow perfectly acceptable.
Fiat currency is nothing but faith and can literally be created with a click of a bankers button. Are you seriously saying something that has no material value and can be created out of think air is stable? Not sure if you noticed but we're experiencing the biggest market crash ever right now in a fiat currency system.
So before you say gold is volatile I suggest you look out of the window.
I still prefer something that can be controlled to some degree by the governemnt, rather than by the rate of gold production and how much people want something shiny, which are mostly random.
Price before '70 was always very low, comparatively... we've only had one spike like this one, which led to a massive crash and a decrease in gold value for 20 years afterwards... No way you can convince me that something that increased in value by 600% over 12 years isn't in an artificially created bubble. Gold companies just love to give the impression that gold value can never fall.
A.gold standard doesn't just mean its based on gold and nothing else, the aim is just durable finite compounds.
Governments can't control money better then the market especailly when the fed reserve isn't even controlled by the government.
When you print money to get out of debt you inflate the currency and reduce the buying power(which explains the gold boom), which in term makes the average person poorer.
It doesn't have to be the "gold" standard, does it?. Gold has been used traditionally, but there are resources far more valuable than gold. Having a currency based on something with real value in the economy rather than mostly intrinsic value could have great benefits...I think?
After the global economic meltdown we will be on the bullet standard
