Track probably too small to fit the show car.
same..
Quote from Cornys :215 MPH @ Michigan?! Sweet! Pretty sure plates are out of the question, and I hope they don't do anything about it I might try to go if they don't make changes (fat chance of that happening though )

I don't currently have tickets, but I was already considering it... None of my friends are really into NASCAR though

I've been to MIS before, but only for IndyCar.
We've been slowly turning everyone we know into at least casual Nascar fans. It usually only takes one race.

It usually does only take one live race for most people . I've hardly ever seen somebody go and not become at least a casual fan.(the one exception was Kentucky Motor Speedway with its Inaugural race and the 5 hour traffic jam getting in, but even in that case 2/3 noobs who were with us loved it :nod
Quote from UncleBenny : It usually only takes one race.

It worked for me. My first race (on TV) was the 2010 Talladega Spring race where it went to 3 green white checkers and Harvick edged out Jamie Mac by 11 thousandths. From then on I was hooked. (Not as a harvick fan, but as a nascar fan)

Go Kyle and Marcos!
First big local dirt race is this weekend, bringing a bunch of people who are into Nascar but have never been to a dirt race before, I can't wait to see their faces. A half mile dirt track is a lot different than going to Pocono for Nascar haha.
Man that is......... Holy .......
Half mile? What is going to be racing there?

Went to East Bay for the Winter Nationals for the first time in a few years, wasn't too bad. At least they made the place a bit better to go to (was quite rough before).
The big block modifieds is the main thing we're going for. The Super Dirt Series runs under the same sanctioning body as the World of Outlaws, just more of a regional northeastern US series instead of touring all over the place like the Outlaws.

Ahh okay. I normally go for the open wheel modifiers, late models and sprints. Last time i was there though they had a freaking mini stock feature that was pretty much the coolest race ever. The whole time two cars were battling for the win. Multiple passes took place but they just couldn't get away from each other. There was also someone else who finished bad in his heat and was starting toward the back. The guy rushes through the field like an absolute maniac, makes his way into 2nd coming to the white, then does an amazing outside pass in the final corner to win the race. Buzzy Reuttimann was also there that night in his modified. Good night.

I don't find the article anything amazing, some find it shocking.
Was a good read Phil, anyways The Rock is back this week and I cannot wait!

I've heard some broadcasters say an official race means one lap past the halfway point, but that's not what Section 9-14-D says. The actual rule is a race must reach the halfway distance, and then it becomes an official race if it can't be completed.

Uh... the guy that wrote this is an idiot.

He doesn't understand the simple concept of reaching half-way and then having the race stopped. The broadcasters have obviously said, we're past half-way to even if the race ends outright it will be an official result.

Section 9-8 is a rule I didn't know. If a race ever takes the green flag but is red-flagged before the completion of the first lap (I guess if a downpour was to suddenly hit the track), all cars would return to their original starting positions when it resumed and there would be a double-file restart like the race had never started.

Why he says this like it's some conspiracy I don't know, but it sure does annoy me.
Quote :WHOA! If I read this correctly, it means a driver who wins a race but fails post-race inspection (like Carl Edwards in the 2008 Las Vegas race) may not have it counted toward a wild card berth. I've never heard that before, but I'd say that's a pretty important part of the wild card rule, right?

Is he really surprised that surprised by this? It's just common sense that they aren't going to give you something you gained through an illegal car.
It's an article for people who like to pick apart NASCAR and always try to blame stuff on them etc. No organization is perfect by any means. I loved it how he skipped around so much throughout the rule book like it is incredibly vague, yet it took 170+ pages in order to write it all out.

People actually believe this writer is a genius, it is rather funny actually.

That's exactly how I imagined it. I don't like the way NASCAR can effectively go against the rules if they so wish just to impede one driver, but it's not like the FiA don't bend the rules to impede certain drivers.

I think alot of people see rules as restrictions and authoritarian control rather than a system to ensure competitive regularity and fairness. Those kind of people are the type of people to pick rules like that and make it look like it's some kind of dictatorship.
Well, they don't exactly go against it, they just leave the rules a bit more "open" to deal with certain circumstances. It just leads to very fine lines when people judge fair/unfair rulings.

Which you get with FiA anyway.

It happened at the allstar race once, they even let the wrecked cars take out backups. Idk if they would allow backups for a points race though. I was at that race but we left because we thought it would be delayed :/
Whoever wrote that article must have problems with the Constitution too. After all, it's too ambiguous.

Well the constitution deserves scrunity and critique. It's complete shite.
