The forum is constantly trying to tell me that I've got an unread PM in my inbox but there is none if I check it.

I've got email notifications on PM's so I can see that I indeed received a PM today, linking to some shady site which is most likely aimed at stealing your login details, thus the user probably got banned and all his PM's deleted. Problem is I can't mark that deleted PM as read now.

edit: I've tried doing ctrl+F5 to clear the cache already

I have the exact same problem.

Go to the bottom of your inbox, you will there see an empty message with a date in 1970 (if I remember well), select it and then delete it, problem gone. I had the same issue today and it took me some time to figure this one out, so I like to share the solution with everyone.

Troy, make sure you go to the last page in your PM's and check the bottom PM. There should be one named "1970".

Yes I did that, actually I checked before I even posted here, my first PM I still got saved is from 17th September 2007, nothing else showing.

Did the trick for me as well. Downloaded the message as text and there is just nothing in there.

Edit:Sorry troy, can't help you on this one.

Just select all the PMs in your inbox (List Messages in User CP), select Mark as Read at the dropdown list at the bottom of the page and click Go.
