I think it would be great if alongside the racer names/running order list during races, also displayed was the car type of that racer. I think would would make a great addition for enduros and the in game screen would still look very clean(see pic).
Ideally this would be a toggle on/off option as single car servers/races would have no need of this.
I'd like to know what you think, so please take a look at a crude image i knocked up to show you what I mean...

That's where the distance to those behind you is shown. That next to this extra information would make it look cluttered.

many insims such as airio allow you to have the information to the distance cars are behind allong the bottom or in "pit sign" style on the left!
