Yeah, I suppose he was going for the "lets drive a car I can drive in real life" kinda thing. Definitely got it spot on about the differing driving styles IRL compared to online. Although I'd struggle to describe iRacing's physics as "spookily realistic" - not sure I'd even describe LFS's as quite that good.

If assuming he was used to the arcade racers like Grand Turismo and Forza and then when introduced to sims like iRacing he was stunned on how much more realistic it was compared to those.

Yes, and that "spookily realistic" kind of even contradicts with rest of the paragraph.

"The physics are spookily lifelike and although the setups and driving styles required to go fast are as grossly misleading as one of Mitt Romney's tax returns..."

Would have been interesting if he had elaborated a bit more about this.
