looking for a new tv 32 upto 42

what brand/make would you recommend...
As your in the UK you should use Hotukdeals, I don't really think there are any specific TV's that are that good that you shouldn't buy any others, it's mainly down to personal preference on the brand etc.

two samgsungs sent back and lg are bottom of the barrel brand and quality.

great reccomendation bro.
I've had two Samsungs in the past 7(?) years and they've been great.

One thing to look for on modern TVs is USB connectivity - as well as updating the software on them, you can plug in a USB stick or USB hard-drive (or for full awesomeness, a Networked Storage Device) with all your... ahem.. 'aquired' movies on and just play them straight through the TV.
Thanks guy. Some interesting thoughts.
Seriously, all brands have gems and duds. Go to the shop, see which one looks best to your eyes, which has the ports you need, which is in your budget range, etc etc. Make an informed decision.
I'd recommend the Sharp Aquos Quattron, mine's a 42". works nicely, makes my Xbox games and cable footage look nice, it has optical audio output, 4 HDMI's a VGA, and a few other traditional connectors. the TV lags a little due to the extra processing for the "Fourth subpixel", yellow, but this feature can be disabled. a big improvement over the previous Westinghouse I had before.

but yes, it's all on personal preference.
