Windows XP SP3 Not Until Late 2007...
Microsoft's Service Pack Roadmap shows that Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP is indicated as likely to be released in the 2nd half of 2007. It seems like the only reason why Herr Gates is stalling this important update for XP for so long is solely to encourage 'tHe eNd uSeR' (yeah thats the likes of us mere peasants..) into the early adoption of the forthcoming Windows Vista.. (More groats quicker in his already bloated coffers....)
Thanks for the info, but just one tip, yellow is the crappest colour ever to use when writing. Its almost invisible

yellow color on black ground is the most visible color combination for far distances you can get :P
for white bg is kinda sucks though

Well I don't want SP3, seeing as SP2 stops N2003 from working and adds a load of crap which you don't need I'm sticking to SP1.

Yes it does, in some cases at least ask Maggot about this, or search RSC

The Security centre things and all the annoying pop ups, I know these can be disabled but what's the point in having them for no reason?
I never had any pop ups with SP2. You must be listening to a lot of rumors.

No, I have had SP2 on one of my computers, which in the end had to come off due to system instability, which before you tell me SP2 couldn't have casued getting rid of it suddenly stopped the problems, although in fairness it was probably some other software of driver causing the conflicts. The computer that had been updated to SP2 is the one I don't normally touch because the rest of the family loving finding anyway of bringing in spyware and generally crippling it, so I don't know if it was something stupid that was causing the problems, I never looked, simply removing SP2 cured the problems and that seriously shouldn't of happened

My point is what does SP2 offer me? I can't see any point in upgrading to it and a large number of people have had problems running N2003, the only workable solution I've seen is uninstalling SP2.
I have XP SP2, and would rather sleep butt naked on a nail bed with a Land Rover Discovery (the new one that weighs nearly 2 tonnes) AND play rFactor than get Vista.

Yup, SP2 was the downfall of NR2003 on my laptop. I can't remove SP2 either. I don't have a windows XP install disc, only a recovery disc which has SP2 built in, and SP2 came installed on my system, so there is no way to get rid of it (the un-install file present after SP2 installations by the end user are not present, as SP2 is built in to my OS).

Many, Many people are left without NR2003 because of SP2. Although, I Don't miss it too much, I've got LFS S2

hes not the only one... im never getting updates from windows, the second i got my computer and logged on i immediately turned off the updates and stuff, because i have never heard anything positive from getting the updates... plus, they take up so much space its not even worth it when you need all the HD space you have
I guess I'm just lucky then. I upgraded to SP2 as soon as possible and never had any problems, even though it seems everyone I hear talking about it has only had bad things to say.
