Actually I did not hear that much of it afterwards. EBU just has a contract until the remainder of the season, so I could also think of the option, that they actually continue the old contracts. Still that are the options EBU has.

Rally of Portugal was meh, but the results quite interesting because Loeb DNF'd on the first day and then Latvala followed (and Solberg, continued with super rally rule). Hirvonen won, but then got excluded:

1. Ostberg
2. Novikov
3. Solberg

Damn, I was so happy seeing that Hirvonen is leading the champ. The worst thing is that the drivers have nothing to do with it...

When I saw Loeb out I got my hopes up. Finally a brake for Jari-Matti to get some ground back... but he crashes yet again and I start to believe that this young fellow Ostberg might be his replacement for next year. I mean the guy is doing unbelievably good in private team. Couple of podiums already and these weird circumstances give him a win. Even better than what Solberg was doing in his private car. I'm sure he'd be leading the champ right now if he was in factory Ford.

That rain messed up everything @ Portugal day2.

But anyway I checked Argentina Rally's stages. Super special stage starts at thursday night, last stage at sunday's afternoon. There are 2 50km stages in friday and 1 60km stage in the beginning of the sunday. Those will be very challanging as we saw in Mexico. Rally is rather long too - little bit over 500km. I think Safari Rally has been only rally in recent past which has been longer than that.

I have not checked at the stage schedule but in the original plan the rally was supposed to go over to Uruguay, so clearly it was always intended to be longer. Which is great.

get Ostberg, if he works well with the engineers and performs quite well, sack Latvala, hes a joke he needs to get over the fact to finish first, first you have to finish.

He probably thought you just have to be Finnish

TBH though it could be a good wake up call, and given his immense pace maybe he could have a chance of sneaking hes way into the VW works team for 2013.

It's a good saying, but just by finishing you're not going to beat Loeb. Case: Hirvonen. One could say Latvala seems to be a bit like younger McRae.

I personally think that Hyundai will get Solberg for developement. Atko would be cool for second driver maybe, but not for first driver...
