Speaking of game reviews, have you noticed how any game even remotely worth buying gets an 8 or a 9 (or a "90%" or whatever). They don't have to be outstanding in terms of staging or having novel gameplay elements, they just need to have a UI that a child could operate and slick production values.
It doesn't matter if the game is terminally boring or so steeped in its genre that it offers nothing new whatsoever, so long as it is well presented.
