Live for Speed on S3?
Thinking of buying new laptop, how would Live for Speed perform on S3 ?
The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics is capable enough for LFS, at least.

I said this before in another topic.

I play LFS using a netbook connected to my TV. This one is out of charts anyway.
CPU: Atom DualCore N550 1.85GHz with HT (4 threads)
GPU: NVIDIA ION 512GDDR3
RAM: 2GB DDR3

Point is, if I can play LFS with full grid having no problems, you will be able to aswell using an i3 + HD3000, which kinda has the same brute force as my ION does. Just go for it.

About 600 on Passmark score, LFS is only using one core so this scores worse then a Pentium D 3 Ghz from 5 years ago. In short, its rubbish.

Intel i3-2377M scores 1900 on Passmark, thats quite reasonable.

Brute force? The ION2 and Intel 3000 HD are both class 4 and in the lower regions. ION2 scores 2000 on 3DMark06. Can't take that very serious.

But this whole topic is not very serious, so its OK.

.
Yea sorry, but we were not talking about spaceships here. We were talking about if LFS runs smooth or not.

And for your information, my ION scored 3062 in 3DMark06 O\C ed, which yes, it may not be much, but we're talking about a 10 inch computer here and that's something. Anyway, LFS doesn't really use SM 3\4, does it? So at the end I find that quite irrelevant.
I haven't seen a computer that couldn't run LFS in almost a decade. Since 2006 when I was taking Cisco in High School, I was able to not only play it, but run it on max settings on the school's Dell XPS computers.
Thanks for this useless info (months later). Hopefully Cisco class was more informative.

My i5 + HD4000 cant even run LFS smooth, so how's that possible?
He didn't say it would run well.
Different resolution maybe also. 10 inch is almost a phone nowadays.
GMA 4500 MHD-Running OK here with one car, but as I add more cars FPS decreases

inch is not resolution

PS. Flame check my IP
Doh. What I'm trying to say of course is that it can be expected that there is a much lower resolution being used on the 10 inch so the GFX chip has a much easier job.
