Does this mean you're going to have some more fun stirring up the hornet's nest over at RSC?
I was wondering whether you keep a log of all the past accounts you've had at RSC, and whether you'd ever divulge? It's sometimes fun reading through the old threads and watching it dawn on people who it is they're arguing about the perfection of ISI physics with.
I dunno I'm a big fan of kid's posts. Especially when he uses that biting wit to bring down a holier than thou type. LOL I'm glad he finally killed the teddy bear.
And Dammit Kid... what DID you do exactly to get banned at RSC?
What's scary is Kid is sort of the unofficial mascot for LFS.
LOL I asked a guy why he didn't like LFS. He said,"Two reasons". "First the
physics and second... who's this KiDCoDEa person?".
all I know is these forums would really be boring with out him
Did he kill me? Am I supposed to be dead? Why am always the last to know these things. Damnit. I suppose my top 20 list of things before I die is right out the window.
Edit - Am I holier than Thee? I think I might take that as a compliment.
ROFL You Left wing infidel.... holier then ME?????
Why you know I'm an evangelical Christian and that I'm the only one going to heaven! from these forums
I dunno why this thread has a smiley face at the end of it, because some of the things he posts on RSC are not something to smile about. Rather, they hurt LFS and the face of our community. Makes us look bad. RSC has developed a hate for LFS fans (and specifically KiD, because he goes there quite often under various aliases) just because of people that go and have a desire to paint their opinions all over everyone's faces. The whole RSC debacle with LFS fans versus opposing-sim fans is just another reason why I don't visit there anymore. Actually, any sim's community "versus" another is what makes it turn so ugly over there... even without Kid's pressence.
It gets really annoying when LFS fans are so infatuated about blurting out stupid crap like "ISI's canned physics" or "rFactor is an arcade game". Come on now, you know who you are.... so SHADDUP!!!! (quite a few regulars on the forum here do that, blind "know-it-alls").
I used to be a Super Moderator there, primarily for the main LFS section and other miscellaneous areas. I did resign because I couldn't comprehend why it was a garbage pit full of flame-bait writings, and I didn't want to represent any sort of ban-empire. It was getting out of control. There was always the constant "kid-patrol" from the staff, and they still have to deal with him. It is tiring and annoying, and with all that --versus this, versus that-- discussions going on, it really has become a more of a competition over at RSC. Not only between sims, but between users... to show who is the bestest fan of all and completely / shamefully ruin LFS's ideals of making a professional sim with a generous community. People do like our community atmosphere, but seriously, anything happening on RSC is hardly an LFS community. It is like we send out evil drones that want to spread the word of LFS and how we hate other sims (oh excuse me, they aren't sims, right? )
And once LFS packed their bags and moved out of RSC's forums, at least Kid has a place to respect his fellow LFS fans, and you can see what he truly is like (sorta like good and bad?). For over 4 years now, he has never changed, that's kid for yah
Every once in a while, like once a month, I visit RSC a bit, just to see what is going on. It is no surprise that it is still the same-old RSC I had remembered.
an ignore button should never exist in forums, all words are important words if comprehended, and if you really dont want to see or hear what someone has to say then.. no one is stopping you, but honestly.. we have the freedom of speach here, and theres another reason why the ignore button should not exist
i know this is slightly off topic, but you should always see what someone has to say, even if they kill people for a hobby; no one ever said you had to listen, but you should always consider
because that person actually took the time to say .. something
I'm sorry but this is where i get shivers, why is it that 'freedom' of speech
should dominate any other 'freedoms' ? Are we not free to not be annoyed
constantly ? Am i not free to ignore something ?! I've said it before and i'll
say it again, freedom is a concept and as such, your freedom ends where
other's begins.
I think freedom to ignore is as important as freedom to say whatever you want. Works both ways: you can say things deliberately inflammatory and I have the right to close my eyes or put my fingers in my ears and go "LALALALALALALA"
This is true. I was going to say "your freedom ends where
other's begins," but you said it already.
Freedom of speech does not give you the right to constantly annoy other people with mindless babble. The right is there so that people can express an opinion without being beheaded by the 'government' like in some countries. Besides that, last I checked this forum is technically a private forum, and therefor that right does not exist here. That's something I don't understand - why does everyone think that because they live in a country with free speech that they should be allowed to have free speech in a private forum? illepall
then for some reason i must have always encountered his evil side or twin ot whatever ... hes possibly the only person who ever got close to ending up on my ignore list in all those years ive been on the internets
what saved him ? i realized how fittin his handle truly is
Well, you guys just dont read his posts right. He is into LFS for a long time, his behaviour is sometimes not right, but overall he is one of the true understanders of LFS and its internals. He points out the problems of marketing other games have, promising shit, they dont have in the end, he points at the same time and the real important things in LFS. IF he hasnt this attitude about the importance of sky-textures (WHO THE **** LOOKS AT THE SKY, WHEN RACING?), I would like him even more.
To live with him, you need kind of a "kidcodea"-filter on your eyes, then it works fine.
I agree with Vykos - there was a time when Kid just annoyed me, but that was because I didn't 'get' him, and what he believed in. Once you've understood Kids position on LFS (basically he's more loyal to LFS than a loyal thing on National Loyal Day) then you'll take stuff he says more in the way he intended it. But he's not blinkered either - he'll point out when something is/isn't in LFS that shouldn't/should be, and without beating around the bush.
LFS wouldn't be LFS without the odd post from Kid.
As for other forums I don't find it annoying or immature - I think it's hilarious watching other people fall over themselves in shock at the things he says sometimes. We (LFS) know we have the best sim, and we know at the end of the day it's just a game. But other simmers seem to THINK theirs is the best (unfounded), and won't ever admit to the slightest defect in them. Even GTR1 fans are still adament it's 100% realistic (which was disproved when the developers said it had huge flaws in it, and it would mean there was no need for GTR2).
Keep going Kid, don't let people stop you being you
No seriously, he doesn't deserve to be on one. Some of his posts on RSC seem inapropriate, but most of them are actually quite funny, considering how prude RSC is at that aspect. But I have to admit, I only learned about the KiD-Scawen/LFS relationship through Tristan at the EAS. Without that knowledge I'd probably see him as retarded flamer. Now I see him as an odd person who likes to shock people with his harshly presented opinion (and who really really really really really likes LFS).
The only thing that recently put me off a bit was that daniel puniet disguise. I felt a bit when I found out all this newbie-niceness and actually writing a response on RSC was "wasted" on KiD.
I must agree with Vykos and Tristan - I thought KiD was really annoying for a time but then I started seing his points... you just have to think a bit about what he posts because he sure as hell won't give you every thought behind his every word in his posts.
.. i look at the sky; it adds deffinition to LFS and looks a ton more realistic with it there
why else would i have suggested we get an alpha layer of moving clouds or sitting clouds back in RSC?
which is still a standing suggestion
@maggot; if you dont currently enjoy your freedom of speech, im sure a moderator has the capability of reviving you lol
as far as i can tell, this forum obviously has a freedom of speech
... hell, tristan has 4k freaking posts! i'd say thats pretty much the freedom of talking if you ask me lol
