Im Admin (Not Host) in the server of Sim racing Portugal I think the hardhawe of the server is something like a atom dual core , with 1gb o ram , The server not only run the lfs server 24/7 but runs the fun races of Race07 and netkar pro

The problem with the lfs Server is, in the beggining like 1 mouth ago the server was running smoth with 1 or 15+ people inside , but 1 weak ago the server starts to have random fps drops for every one at the same time , im talking about brakes , if you change gear in the momet the brake occurs the gear dont engage , we usually play with skype or ts so when in lags its exactly at the same time , me and the host have trying to fresh install he run diagnostics in the server and nothing found :/ , we need the server for a future chanpionchip and we need to fix this

FPS drops are not possible as far as I know. Maybe you mean high ping?

I mean the ping values in the N list. If that starts to rise for everyone then its an indication that the server cannot handle it anymore.

But what is this server.. Linux or Windows? Is it really a dedicated server or are we talking about a so called VPS?

The server is running windows server 2003 , its hard to explain , but ricardo costa have raced there , and knows what happens is a break that even the sound lag in that miliseconds

and the ping everyone with 30/40 ms

No problem even now we play in the server and brakes occur

So some server issue is slowing down client side FPS? Weird.

No, yes with wine. And that runs smoothly without graphics.

Yes is for al clients at the same time for example we feel in the wheel like a 500 ms disconection an back to normal

At first I thought it was my PC that stuttered but no. It's just a minimal break, almost unnoticeable. As far as I know this problem don't make us lag.

It is really weird as almost everybody has very low ping times and these stuttering problems just keep happening. It doesn't spoil the game-play itself but after a while it gets a bit annoying.

Maybe the PC who are running the host have some kind of issue.

Hi, i'm the admin of Simracing Portugal and owner of the server.

It is a dedicated PC for simracing servers with windows server 2003. It has been working since October without issues. At first i had a demo server always full, 14 users. After a while i added a S2 server. Having the 2 at same time, there was no problem what so ever. I also have Race07 and netkar pro installed and have no problems with them.


The problem is: since early December LFS has been giving problems. Either its lagging like never before or giving cyclic brakes to all players, either with one, two or full server, all suffer the same effect. Pings are always low (bellow 100).

Race07, netkar pro show no problems, even with more players, and they are more likely to have problems than lfs dedicated.

I have scanned the disk for errors, virus, defraged check performance monitor and saw nothing unusual. I also tried another fresh installation of LFS dedicated with different port. It gets better, but after a few minutes it shows the same problems.

I have tried everything i know...
